Kind of Vietnamish. You lose the war w/o losing a single battle. The fact is that the US military dominated as usual. Very few casualties and material losses and we crushed Iran's military every time they tried to defend themselves. Utter domination from a military standpoint.
The problem is that Trump and company had no exit plan and no plan to deal with Iran just basically waiting until we weren't looking and lobbing a few muntions into the straight to disrupt oil flow. They weren't willing to put enough boots on the ground to stop it and apparently never saw the completely predictable Iranian response coming. It's kind of expected when you have a POTUS/Sec of War that have NO IDEA what they are doing but also have NO PROBLEM firing the folks that acutally do.
Hopefully the peace deal is a good one and fortunately we have some of the best dealmakers in the world in Trump and Vance to make sure the US comes out ahead. Regardless, we can count on Trump telling us all how he won the war.

I was critical of this war from the start. When we bombed them to stop their enrichment program, I said here we go again, Trump creates a problem(pulls out of the JCPOA) and then claims he has to fix it with the military. When he pulled out of the JCPOA he claimed it was a bad deal, that we gave them money. Ok, but we already gave it to them and we had inspectors we confirmed they were enriching only within the bounds of the agreement. I think Trump simply is so jealous of Obama's success, he needed to sabotage it in any way possible. Look up Narcissistic injury for more info on this whackos mind state.
