Hope you’re right. I know FV has a couple of kids who I remember from middle school were really good players but they have been hampered with players not going to FV out of middle school. KM has two lineman who went to the middle school that feeds into FV.
They did have a bunch of kids! They had more players than any team! But it was rough to watch! They played Lincolnton 2 times! Never scored in 2 20 min sessions! Only 1 1st down in 40 mins! It was rough to watch! But it’s 7 on 7
Heard we looked really good today on both sides of the ball.
Burns had one yesterday with Gaffney, West Meck and another school. I was told they won all of them except the final game in the last few seconds.
We played West Mech last week and Hunter Huss yesterday. We did some good things and some things we need to work on. However you can only take so much from these 7 on 7 games. Definitely not close to the way things are for real on Friday nights.
Nothing compared to Friday Nights. I do not put a whole lot of stock in it but it does have benefits. Given our situation with a new QB we need the reps to work on timing and building chemistry with your receivers. I also like seeing the secondary getting reps. It only helps to get out there and get after it. A win in 7v7 means nothing on Friday nights but it does give you an idea of what each position has talent wise.
I 100% agree and we are in the same position with our young QB as well. In my opinion we have a ton of talent for him to throw to but definitely need the reps and timing, and 7 on 7 provides that.
Some very entertaining matchups. We will see how our minor league conference holds up against the best 5A/6A conference in the state.
