Purdue can really only take one guard and Kevin Savage is apparently close to committing to them. Illinois I don’t really know why but I’m assuming they think they can buy whatever guard they really like

But can't Iowa buy whatever guard they really like?

:)

Sounds like one of those kids who played guard til he had a late growing spurt that has resulted in a 6'10" skilled BB player.
Love those types of developing young players...Anthony davis went thru that same maturation and ended up the #1 player in country and in draft.

Another quiet balancing act is distribution of resources by class.
Keller is unrated by on3 ....he is probably not going to command as much as jax davis,a 4 star pg who we are pursuing.
Iowa probably has a budget and this addition might just free up enough resources to get Jax on board at a critical need position, pg.

In Ben I trust!

Why no discussions about Jamison's visit. Looks like a solid PG prospect. Is it that no one thinks we'll actually get a commitment or is it that Davis or Daughtry are better?

4-star PG Tyrone Jamison Jr. had his official visit to IOWA on June 14 & 15. IOWA offered last August.

He's from Shreveport, LA and plays for Calvary Baptist Academy.

Jamison took an official visit to Maryland on Jan 2.

Other scheduled visits:
LSU on Sep 4
Oklahoma on Sep 19
Baylor on Sep 26
Alabama on Oct 10

With all those visits left in September and early October do the Hawks really stand a chance?

Probably he'll stay home at LSU or Bama. Can't get them if you don't try. Tip of the hat to Ben and staff. Daughtry is probably a Michigan lean but Davis could be our next point guard. Only time will tell.

At least Ben is getting Cayden Daughtry on campus.

ESPN has him as a 5 star. Rivals and most everyone else have him as a 4 star.

UConn, Louisville, Kentucky and Michigan. That's some serious competition with deep pockets. At least he is visiting, that's something.

He likely ends up elsewhere. If I was a betting man, I’d say we won’t hear anything more with TJ and Iowa until after Daughtry and Davis visit, if at all.
I don't disagree, but Ben and his staff have brought a new enthusiasim to Iowa that we haven't seen in a long time. Ben's ability to develop high quality point guards has to impress these young men.

It’s so refreshing to see a guy with energy and enthusiasm, coupled with a track record and current resume to sell. I’m still trying to wrap my head around Year 1 Ben McCollum, it feels like a fever dream.
