Belgium pretty lifeless in the first half. Lukaku just got put in and he scores within five seconds! Actually my second sentence was only going to be five words, lol.

Edit: own goal.

One of my lasting World Cup memories: Diego Forlan and Uruguay in 2010.

almost inevitable. Uruguay has been controlling the possession for most of the 2nd half.

and Iran answers with an excellent centering ball, and a perfect header. This is quite an entertaining match.

Probably not a record that Oyarzabal or the Spanish team would have liked to have attained:

One of the more competitive, and entertaining matches, I've seen in this World Cup. (With the caveat that I've only watched about half of them.)

A lot of Iranian expats in LA. They hate the regime, love the soccer team.
There are also a ton of Mexican Americans there who have seen what bad regimes can do to ordinary people so there could have been some "neutrals" in that crowd. The fact Iran has to stay in Tijuana and fly in for their matches is criminal in itself for a competition at this level. So sad the US didn't really grasp what the World Cup is, but that is on FIFA who will go anywhere for the right price. The same with Urugay not being allowed to fly in or the Somali African Ref of the Year being denied entry only to be accepted in Canada. It's irritating we couldn't behave like adults for such a great world event.

The fans around the globe as decent humans are shining all over the place. The S. Koreans in Mexico are tearing it up and man I cannot get enough of those clips. Scottish have taken over Boston and the folks in Boston seem to love it. The Dutch Army in Fort Worth was a site to behold this weekend.
