In the midst of all the chaos and nonsense that have impacted college basketball, I love the older, established, HOF coaches still doing it who just say whatever the hell they want because they have he freedom and personality to speak their mind, because they have a platform, and can basically do and say whatever the F they want.
um....what is he upset about? He is in one of the 2 main leagues causing this entire issue....if anyone from the Big 10 or SEC complains...give me a break.
Big 12 and ACC to a lesser extent, but those 2 should all be holding mirrors when they whine...
He’s at a football school though and the reality that no one can change or dispute is that football decisions control everything. Gun to head I’m sure Izzo hates all the conference realignment just like he’s publicly blasted the portal madness and NIL stuff to certain degrees. At least he speaks up about it.
Like when Cuse broke off from the Big East. Jimmy B was kicking and screaming publicly about it because he didn’t want to do it, although it was happening whether he was on the sideline or not.
I am not one of those who feel Izzo is worthy of canonization. He's no phoney ala Mike K but he's not way far behind.
Always been the case. For all the glory of the original BE, even they knew football would be essential.
I hear you, but they are competitors who are paid handsomely to win games. And in Izzo’s case he has a long affiliation with MSU. Hard to expect them or others to do something like that. Whatever the rules are, operate within them. In cases like these guys and others, they probably operate more within the rules now because there aren’t many. Compared to the past where everyone colored outside the lines to varying degrees.
