Agreed and I really don’t think it’s that difficult of a decision. I’d be shocked if it’s not Boaz or Rose starting Wednesday.Yep. For me it would be Boaz to Rose and then either Matthijs or Globe. Globe only if we have the lead late in the game.

Considering the arms we should be facing on Wednesday, I’d take this from Boaz in a heartbeat if he gets the ball.Boaz pitched in the regional final vs ECU. 3.1 innings, 5 hits, 1 run.
Do we? Win Wednesday and then it's the same as the SuperWe're going to need a good Boaz at some point to win this thing. Might as well be now and let the horses rest.
So if we lose on Wednesday, you aren't starting a rested Decaro in Thursday's elimination game? I can't see Forbes doing that.I would def start with Rose, then Boaz for a couple of innings, I would not want Decaro Pitching til the finals. Its imperative we score a bunch of runs, take pressure off of pitching staff. Perfect world we score enough to not have to use Decaro, Glauber or Duffie until the finals.
Matty has been far worse than Boaz this year and has never started. Why would they start him?Going from Boaz to Rose against either of those lineups scares me. Obviously depends on situation but I wouldn't be surprised if Matty gets a look Wednesday
26 years old! Never really made it to the majors and is for sure getting a pay raise now

Anyone know who we should be looking at during the draft for who might not end up enrolling? Also side note, I really wish we could’ve seen Walker Jenkins in a unc jersey for 3 years lol
No we should not need Decaro to start Wednesday on short rest, and being in line to start game 3 of the finals does you no good if you lose the first 2 games. So if we lose on Wednesday, you aren't starting a rested Decaro in Thursday's elimination game? I can't see Forbes doing that.
Pitching Decaro on Wednesday with 4 days rest puts him in line as the starting picture in Game 3 of the finals. Hard not to like that situation.
Not to start, I should've clarified. But if you want a righty in between Boaz and Rose without burning your studs it's probably going to be him. He's also appeared more this tournament than Folger has.Matty has been far worse than Boaz this year and has never started. Why would they start him?
Makes sense. Ideally we score runs early and can use Matty and Padgett to eat up innings so rose doesn’t have to do too much and can avoid globe entirely. Not to start, I should've clarified. But if you want a righty in between Boaz and Rose without burning your studs it's probably going to be him. He's also appeared more this tournament than Folger has.
When Ryan got into trouble last night, it was Matty and Globe who ran to the pen. With his veteran experience, I wouldn't be surprised if Forbes and co. wanted to get him a look before the championship series
I’d bet a large sum of money that Jason Decaro does not start on Wednesday. So if we lose on Wednesday, you aren't starting a rested Decaro in Thursday's elimination game? I can't see Forbes doing that.

We really might not. Can win a Wednesday game started by Rose, then win the first two like we did in the regional and so far in the CWS. We might need him, but there’s a reasonable path where we might not use him. We're going to need a good Boaz at some point to win this thing. Might as well be now and let the horses rest.
I can promise you it’s being strongly considered.I’d bet a large sum of money that Jason Decaro does not start on Wednesday.
I’m sure it is, that doesn’t remove what I said.I can promise you it’s being strongly considered.
Here we go again… Can you qualify what your version of “strongly” means? Strongly like a bunch of us on the board have mentioned it as a possibility then mostly dismissed it? And using the word strongly from any information from Sunday night/ Monday morning seems excessive when we don’t even know our opponent or the situation/ condition the opposing pitching staff will be in for that Wednesday game. Are we meant to believe that Forbes has already made a blind decision before those factors play out??I can promise you it’s being strongly considered.
It’s a lot easier to take over a game when you aren’t facing one of the best pitchers in the nation. Best chances for our offense to take over a game are Wednesday and/or Thursday more so than in the finals.Need the lineup to have success to make this possible. It’s time for them to take over a game!
I don’t think there’s a single person suggesting we should pass on throwing DeCaro on Thursday if we play a Thursday game for the bracket finals. So if we lose on Wednesday, you aren't starting a rested Decaro in Thursday's elimination game? I can't see Forbes doing that.

The staff is strongly considering DeCaro to start Wednesday. It’s a pretty cut and dried statement. Take it how you will. Not sure why it’s got you so upset? Here we go again… Can you qualify what your version of “strongly” means? Completely different approach in Omaha.I would start DeCaro Wednesday before I started Glauber and burned him for the first 2 games of the finals.
Ultimately I don't think I would because I don't think you're getting peak DeCaro if you start him twice in a row on 4-days rest, which is something he hasn't really done all year.
You still want to put players in the best position to succeed. That's what coaching is.Completely different approach in Omaha.
Yea I was coming to mention this - apparently Troy hits substantially better against lefties so if its Troy, I'd be hesitant to start Boaz/Rose..I would consider starting DeCaro to and i understand why but i would hold him back myself. IF the biggest word in sports Troy wins and the way they hit left handed pitching maybe we go with DeCaro after all . I see both sides of the argument. The downside of starting DeCaro is if we win Wednesday with him will he be available in game 2 ? On three days rest if we lose game one Saturday?
Two words f*** no!! I like Boston but noTwo words: Boston. Flannery.
Not necessarily. Only Ian Korn threw many pitches (79 vs Troy) and that was on Friday. If their game 3 starter goes deep into the game their pen would be pretty fresh.Whoever we play will be deep into their bullpen. We have to score runs to make it easier on our staff.
I don’t think WVU’s pen is very deep. It’s really just Korn that’s really good. Not necessarily. Only Ian Korn threw many pitches (79 vs Troy) and that was on Friday. If their game 3 starter goes deep into the game their pen would be pretty fresh.
The difference between regional and CWS is the championship series that starts 2-3 days later. All true… Same situation as a regional - someone has to beat us twice. So it’s not a one game blind decision to make. Forbes will still go with whatever gives us the best chance to win that Wednesday game… with a tiny eye to maybe needing to play another day.
Really curious who he calls on to start. Rose? Globe? Boaz? I’m thinking someone other than Globe because it’s not an elimination game like last Sunday was.
Thinking ahead but it has to go into the equation… JD could pitch Thursday if needed, but then he’d be likely out for a possible championship series that would start on Saturday. That’d be kinda crazy…
In my mind, absolute ideal situation would be for Rose to start and make it 5, and then let globe and duff finish it off. We’d then have our whole staff pretty much on schedule to start the championship series.
Champ series starts Saturday. But I get what you mean.I'm greedy and want the staff ready for the championship series Friday. Decaro pitched Friday, if unc can win Wednesday, Decaro can start Friday on a full weeks rest.
Pitch Boaz or rose Wednesday..... if there's a Thursday game, Pitch Decaro. Hopefully unc takes care of business tomorrow
