He’s absolutely the worst. The only one close is Gillespie. Billy didnt have a portal to bail him out like Pope does. Comparing their high school recruiting, Billy is firmly ahead.

I'm thrilled about the commitment, but let's not act like Pope isn't the worst recruiter in UK history and subpar amongst other top programs. Hopefully the previous recruiting failures was his error period of his career and this is the start of something new.

I know people roll their eyes when the NBA is mentioned, but Hampton has the POSSIBILITY to significantly turn the tide on Pope’s recruiting ability if this guy is a lottery pick one-and-done.

I was speaking in regards to high school recruiting:

-Tubby wasn't at all an elite recruiter, but he still managed to get SEVERAL McDonald's All-Americans and top 100 kids that weren't from the state.

-Gillispie's recruiting was...interesting. However, he still managed to get commitments from highly ranked Daniel Orton, Dominique Ferguson, DeAndre Liggins, and Alex Legion.

2 recruits don’t erase the prior 2-3 years of whiffs. The fact that it took Pope all the way to his FOURTH recruiting cycle to get 5 star or a guy that wasn’t from KY, borders KY or has a relative on the team is ridiculous.

He wouldn’t be scrambling to keep his job or having to read those 26.5k posts if he had recruited even remotely well prior to now.

Yeah. I didn't count Darius Miller because he was in-state and Patterson because I believe most of his recruitment was from Tubby. While he did get those guys, I assumed that would have been used against me in the argument.
