All.... The Braves years ago were looking to join the CS8. If I recall correctly the coaching staff at that time was leading the charge so to speak. Then a year or so later a new HC and that gent wanted no part with the CS8. NET would have more inside details but I think it came down to risking all the success they have playing in the Apollo. That would be a good addition though. RatsyI would keep the CS8 at its current size by swapping Lincoln (CS8 now) with Mt Zion (Apollo now).
That would be a bad move for SHG...I will start by adding SHG to the CCL.
This would be awesome because they most likely would play in Bloomington to cut the travel time/cost. These games would be MUST SEE every week!!!ESL to CCL Blue
All.... From Grokipedia..... "Taylorville's exit after the 2013-14 school year was driven by a desire for better competitive balance and geographic proximity to rivals, as the school sought to rejoin the Apollo conference, where it had previously competed from 1981-1993. During its two decades in the CS8, Taylorvile struggled in several sports, exemplified by an 85 - game losing streak in boys basketball from 2006-2014 and a 7-17 football record over the prior three seasons, prompting administrators to prioritize matchups against similary sized schools in the Apollo for improved rivalries and success potential."If or when Decatur consolidates Ike and Mac along with the possible removal Lincoln, 2 spot open up in the CS8. Taylorville and MtZ would be the schools I would go for!~
There's a possibility of Taylorville getting 230+ more students in the coming years... If that happens I can see them looking elsewhere...All.... From Grokipedia..... They want no part of the CS8. Ratsy
I know this is a hypothetical that will never happen, but ESL playing a Chicagoland team once a season makes sense to play in the middle at Bloomington. But if they legitimately had 7-9 Chicagoland games a season, I am sure they would rather do home and homes. 4 trips to Chicago or 8 consecutive trips to Bloomington? I think everyone would prefer half the games at home and only having to travel every other week. This would be awesome because they most likely would play in Bloomington to cut the travel time/cost. Don't hate any of those options, but would need to be for football only as Morris wouldn't be able to compete in most other sports. I know it's hypothetical, but these options would not be fun travel wise.I will take Morris to the Mid Illini to get some matchups with Metamora and Washington.
Or Morris to the Southwest Prairie.
Or Morris to the CCL or Big Twelve. Really anywhere but where they currently are.
Yeah, personally, I would enjoy going to ESL for an MC game and having them play at Barda-Dowling for the home/away atmosphere with a little tailgating. However, I’m also aware that it’s likely only the players’ parents and a few faithful fans would make that trip down south. I’m not familiar how the ESL fan base travels. I’d say they outdrew Loyola 2-1 and slightly less to about about even with MC in Normal, IL.I know this is a hypothetical that will never happen, but ESL playing a Chicagoland team once a season makes sense to play in the middle at Bloomington. Consolidation with smaller local schools? There's a possibility of Taylorville getting 230+ more students in the coming years... If that happens I can see them looking elsewhere...
Would ACC and AC?Would like to see Marmion, Aurora Central and Aurora Christian in the same conference.
Edinburg has wanted to go to Taylorville for at least 10 years. Morrisonville has support for going to Taylorville as does Kincaid. The state has to save money at some point so it will be either annexation or voluntary movement.Consolidation with smaller local schools?
Does Taylorville have the facilities and faculty to accommodate an additional 230+ kids?Edinburg has wanted to go to Taylorville for at least 10 years. Believe ACC is looking to leave the CCL and join the Chicagoland Christian Conference.Would ACC and AC?
They should, it's a better fit IMO.Believe ACC is looking to leave the CCL and join the Chicagoland Christian Conference.
criminal that ACC and Marmion don’t play each other every year. Was a great rivalry.
Back in the 70s they had around 1200. The high school is pretty large.Does Taylorville have the facilities and faculty to accommodate an additional 230+ kids?
Morrisonville, Edinburg, and Kincaid offer minimum academic classes... Going to Taylorville would offer better academics and other activities.Taylorville HS enrollment has decreased from 1,019 in 2005 to 662 currently.
I would think THS would jump at the opportunity to add students through consolidation.
Any idea why it's not happening? Usually, the resistance to consolidation comes from the smaller school(s).
This would seem on paper to be a win for all involved.
Some townsfolk don't want to lose their "identity" so keeping schools open with 70+ kids is better than academic ops. As a student at Kincaid my class had 66... Today Kincaid has 73! Not sure what they put in the water in Kincaid but they are a special kind of... Well... Pawnee offered to COOP with Kincaid but they blew the chance and Pawnee will never seek to COOP with them. The only options are Taylorville either by annexation or town vote. I believe Taylorville will take every small town it can. They have Stonington and Mt. Auburn... The other 3 will face the music sooner or later.Taylorville HS enrollment has decreased from 1,019 in 2005 to 662 currently.

Takes the shine off … that is why Andre the Giant was on circuit.I know this is a hypothetical that will never happen, but ESL playing a Chicagoland team once a season makes sense to play in the middle at Bloomington. you are correct. plus they've received more than one offer. so they've turned down multiple offers. i think we all know why. net-se.All.... The Braves years ago were looking to join the CS8. cs8 by-laws don't allow co-ops.If or when Decatur consolidates Ike and Mac along with the possible removal Lincoln, 2 spot open up in the CS8. Taylorville and MtZ would be the schools I would go for!~
what?Morrisonville, Edinburg, and Kincaid offer minimum academic classes... Going to Taylorville would offer better academics and other activities.
peoria hs, pnd, bloomington, normal com and west. plus washington. and ratsy...........i want morris! net-se. @cornerrat#1 @rocketnation what say you?All.... Not one team.... What I would like to see and years ago it was actually looked at a merger with the CS8 and the Big 12. I think at the time referred to as a super conference with several divisions.
Schools would still have to work out running down some non con games. And the potential to load up on a tough regular season schedule through crossover division play would have a team(s) battle tested for postseason play.
To this day I would still like to see this happen. Ratsy
