Bluder had way more success playing Clark off ball than White has. The difference was Bluder had it designed to get her the ball at the end of the play….in White’s system she never sees the ball again. That’s not the league, that’s the coach. And what future are they protecting, she’ll be gone after next year.
I didn't imply late clock strategy to be "the league".

I was talking about the open court dynamic

The open court dynamic that CC had at Iowa, simply will not be replicated in the pros, no matter who the coach.

Fans need to get over it.

It's a different game. And Bluder had to sacrifice some elements of the game to achieve that dynamic. Not quite a gimmick sysytem. But there are reasons she never had a good defensive team in 24 years.

Plus, if back problems are a reality, then Indiana is prudent in protecting their future. Rounding out the rest of the team, while taking stress off CC by occasionally putting her off the ball, or on the bench, would only make sense. If they were riding her into the ground and she couldn't play again, fans would freak out too
Explain the wonderful job they did this off season "rounding out the team"?

The dipsh!t ref was looking right at that illegal screen. Do you think Aja, Phee, or Paige would’ve gotten that call? I sure as hell do! That screen should have been set with the front of the body and not the shoulder.
Not to mention you could clearly see in the replay she lifted her shoulder into Clark

I think she's locked longer then that as a "restricted" FA. The Fever can match any offer in less they decide to let her walk. At that point they better trade her and get some value or the fans will burn down Gainbridge.

Back to the turnover debate. John Wooden stated:

“If you’re not making mistakes, then you’re not doing anything. I’m positive that a doer makes mistakes.” Coach John Wooden

He also said he wanted his teams to have about 12-14 turnovers a game.

His teams played on the edge - never conservative or safe.

I just looked at the Final Four box scores for four of his best national championship teams from 1968 - 1971. Those teams averaged 21.25 turnovers a game in thier 8 Final Four games. It's an amazing stat for UCLA teams as talented and well-coached as those. Here are the games and TO stats -

1967 – 68
v. Houston – 23 TOs
v. North Carolina – 26 TOs

1968-69
v. Drake – 21 TOs
v. Purdue – 19 TOs

1969-70
v. New Mexico State – 20 TOs
v. Jacksonville – 23 TOs

1970-71
v. Kansas – 24 TOs
Villanova – 14 TOs

It's no coincidence that the WNBA TO leaders are all among the league's top players.

I swear, some people seem to think zero turnovers for a point guard is the ideal. It's not.

I

I didn't say anything about the offseason.

Taking stress off CC allows the rest of the team to round out (develop), while preserving her health.

Why is it that no one ever seems to have a clue what I'm talking about?
Yes, FINALLY. Even as you stumble around here, you finally tripped over the answer. "WHY is it NO one ever seems to have a clue what I'm talking about". EXACTLY. And yet YOU think that out of all the posters, somehow they, us, whomever are ALL wrong and incapable of understanding, and YOU alone are the coherent singular being, That has to be the very definition of a narcissist.....

What I said wasn't confusing at all.

Completely obvious opportunity for you to admit that you simply weren't reading closely enough, and misunderstood what was said.

Instead, you pull this garbage.

And it is garbage, because I write plenty clearly enough.

For most, it's something best called, "triggered reading". It's something I never knew existed, before posting on this board.

I can't speak for why others don't read well enough. But for most of them, it seems at this point, that anything and everything posted by Eyes, brings a visceral reaction that literally robs them of their reading comprehension.

Quite sad actually. You guys keep echoing off the walls off the ladies room, though. When people start challenging the actual content of my posts, rather than nitpicking semantics, or reacting to me pleading for them to read better, is when I might start to wonder if some of my sentiments are at all off base

This is asinine, as are most of your posts.

CC has the 2nd highest usage % in the WNBA this season (which would also rank her top 25 all time) and you constantly whine about her hot having the ball enough.

And you think the Fever will trade her after next season? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Yet she’s #2 in the league in PER and assist percentage.

More nonsense from you. Her PER is 19.7, which is 2nd on the Fever behind Boston's 23.7

She's not even close to the top 10 in the league:
Wilson 32.17
Plum 27.72
Howard 26.51
Miles 24.41
Mack 23.92
Shepard 23.89
Boston
Sabally 23.09
Stewart 23.03
Iriafen 23.38

Here's a math quiz.

If it takes Angel Reese 19 shots to scorce 12 points, how many shots would it take Angel to break Diana Tursa's single game
scoring record of 47 points?

Good thing she's not out there to shoot like DT.
Maybe someone should tell her that. Diana Taurasi career average was 13.9 shots attempts per game. Angel threw up 19 last night.

I'm was way more impresed with Dennis Rodman's game. During his career he had seven games with 20+ rebounds with no points. In fact, during a two-game stretch in 1993, he grabbed 25 rebounds in one game and 24 rebounds in the next, finishing both games with exactly 0 points.

Reese vs. Boston could be very entertaining (and possibly decisive) in the upcoming Fever vs. Dream series.

Reese is averaging 16/14 over the last 6 games (vs. TOR,NY,CHI,WASH,IND,CON)

Boston is averaging 18.5/9 over the last 6 (vs. CON,CHI,NY,ATL,WASH,PORT)

Reese has been dominating ORBs lately and Boston has missed a higher number of layups the past few games. Reverse those trends and Fever have a much better chance to post a W.

Boston has been on fire lately. Last matchup Rhyne Howard was ice cold. Gray was also a little off. If Dream want any chance at winning it will be through them and lesser through Reese.

It's too bad this awesome Caitlin Clark thread is being wrecked with all the Angel Reece crap.
Can we just stop please.
If you want to start a thread for Angel Reece, have at it. I will be happy to never read it
The same awesome thread bogged down by eyesofhawk?
