A six foot linebacker? We have some good commits in this class, but now they really seem to be reaching to fill up.
Have you watched him play or seen his highlights? Or is it just that you don't think 6'1 LBs are any good?

From what I seen he definitely isn't a reach. Dude is a player. He's one of my favorite pickups so far. Him and the DL out of Florida are really under rated imo. I think barring injury they both end up 4 star guys. Not that the ratings matter much anyways. Not saying that's the case with you but many think that because a guy has a 3 star instead of a 4 he isn't good. That's not the case here.

No, I haven't watched any highlights on the Green kid. I was going by his offer list (couldn't care less about stars), which isn't very good. In the Big Ten you need to be able to stop the run, and we were awful at it last year. 6'2" 220 is probably minimum, but I'm sure you would be able to find some exceptions to that on some Big Ten rosters.

I guess I haven't seen anything from this staff to show that they can identify under the radar linebacker talent, or at any position for that matter. I want to see offers from multiple, quality schools.

I guess that's a fair assessment. Although I THINK the new DC is also a LB and probably would have the final say so.

As far as his size goes if he is 6'1 210is

That's a fair assessment I guess. I do think the new DC is also a LB coach so maybe he gets final say so on ship worthy guys or not.

Finally if a kid is 6'1 212ish the summer of his last year getting to 220 by next year would be pretty easy. Of course provided he has the frame to carry it.

By his RS frosh year I don't think size would be a factor. Again provided the frame is there .

I see why the benefit of the doubt is gone with these guys though

Maybe it isn’t fair to even mention LaVonte but wasn’t one of the reasons he wasn’t heavily recruited out of high school was he viewed as being under sized to play backer.

Missouri has a commit , (verbal 6/1/2026), Kobe Ryhmes - 6'1" 225 . Interesting thst we offered him as well.

My guess since we lost Kobe, we out bid MU for Caleb

Which is funny since that was supposed to be their strength

According to who? Oh right, it was self-proclaimed by Rhule.

I remember when he was first hired, he stood up at the podium and told us all he was so great at identifying under the radar talent that once he would offer, the recruiting services would all add at least another star and the other programs would all come out of the woodwork and start recruiting the player just based off that. I mean, he was the under the radar talent whisperer guru savant...at least according to him.

Rhule should Sell Used Cars and Vinyl Windows! I'd like to hear how he has changed his half time game planning and 4th qtr time managment.
Rhule has no idea what "halftime game planning and 4th quarter time management" is. So, I expect no changes will be made.

He needs an IQ over 85 to understand what it all means. So, good luck I guess.

That's true about him. But I'm not even sure he was 200 coming out of HS.

We all know that there is generally a certain amount of weight needed to play LB on the major college level. I just don't get caught up over 10-15 pounds when we are talking about a kid who hasn't even started his senior year of HS yet. If his frame permits it gaining 10-15 pounds in a college S&C program can happen in as little as a year. 2 years from now that kid will look like a completely different person.

If the kid was 185 or so then I'd be a bit more worried but at his current weight? I'm not bothered at all.

That's possible. Some actually like Green more than Rhymes. I actually do...
Both good players though

Their fanbase was pretty awful to deal with on the road.
I was in a doctoral program at Mizzou but still had Nebraska plates on my car. That was the year Gill led that late TD drive to win. As I was driving my wife and a couple of friends back from the game a huge black dude in a black and gold cowboy suit (including the hat) stepped out in front of me shaking his fists and screaming at me. Not sure what his problem was. I was barely moving but when it became obvious he was going to try to stop me, I gunned it and he jumped out of the way.

I had lived in Columbia for a couple of years at that time. Lots of Mizzou fan friends including the head of the Antlers. Never had a problem with anybody until that crazy sucker. Lived a block from the “projects” for a year where there were regularly shootings and drug activity.

Yes they were. Missouri fans and Colorado fans were the worst. My favorite fans from the old Big 8 were Kansas, Iowa State, and OU. Yes … I said OU. Been to many NU vs OU games in Norman. Always had a blast. Always treated well. I had mixed experiences at KSU.

Oklahoma and Nebraska don’t and never had a hatred rivalry

Lot of fans in Omaha that are Skers are pulling for them this weekend.
