I keep seeing this picture making the rounds on Twitter. It's gotta be weird to attend a game and then see a doctored photo of yourself all over the internet afterwards.

Damn, if someone gets offsides today, Toad better be the one handing out the red card
I haven't watched this show so I haven't seen the play, but I don't think there is supposed to be offsides on set pieces like corner kicks.I just watched this past weeks Welcome to Wrexham. Their FA cup match they had a corner kick near the end of the match. The ball curved and went all the way to the far side of the goal. The wrexham player heads it in after it went passed the goalie. It was disallowed because the wrexham player was called offsides. The ball started further up field than where the player was but he was a hair closer to the goal than any defender before the kick.
If that is the rule why on every corner kick can't you put all your players 20 yards from your goal or even at half field and force every attacking player to lineup even further back.
For your lookup reference....the toad guy was just shown on TV. Between the 36 and 37.5 minute in first half.
Same principle as instant replay in pro and college football…It’s delayed to give VAR a chance to overrule it if the offense does score & the call was wrong. Good idea on very close calls. But linesmen routinely delay obvious offside calls which drives me 17ing crazy.
Saw today that he was kicked in the calf and came out as a precaution. They're "hoping it's nothing."Pulisic pulled at the half. Has to be hurt.

I would like to see the play. There are 3 circumstances where there aren't offside, Corner, Throw-In and a Goal Kick. Typically when you see offiside on a corner the ball was played back to a player after the kick whom is now in an offside position due to defenders moving up the field.
Correct. There can be no offside directly from a corner kick, but once the corner kick touches an attacker, then offside can be called. So if a corner kick comes in, is headed by an attacker, and then the ball goes to a player who is in an offside position at the time the ball was headed, and he scores, the goal would be canceled due to offside.I assume that once the ball is first touched by a player in the field, then offsides becomes relevant for any further touches??
That's reassuring.Saw today that he was kicked in the calf and came out as a precaution. They're "hoping it's nothing."
The reason it’s the most popular sport in the world is because all you need are two nets and a ball. It’s because it’s cheap to play.I used to hate soccer. Then my kids started playing it and I started to understand the rules and the strategy. There is a reason it is BY FAR the most popular sport in the world. It is an amazing game.
