Harper was the most impressive player on the Spurs to me. Played great without the baggage of Wembanyama.
But last night, he had 4 late possesions. One make, one got blocked, and the other two missed, along with the missed ft. And it seemed he missed more in other games as the end neared though not certain of that. Terrific talent. But lets face it, the Spurs need a new coach or a new way to play. Ridiculous use of the best player alive. If they had a seasoned coach like Pop, would be different I think, W's play and his temperment.

Mitch is a good young coach...spurs were just the youngest starting 5 in a finals ever Come on

In my old man's opinion the way they play Wemby is tying a hand behind his back. I know nothing of the spurs but the Knick series. I can literally not tell you the coach's name. But color me unimpressed.

Spurs coach should have had them foul Robinson when he got extended run in the 4th quarter. Instead he watched Brunson torch them time & time again. Why Fox was on the court in crunch time was another head scratcher.

Robinson played 3:51 of 4th quarter and did not come in game until 5:30 left in reg.

I wouldn’t blame Pike. I think Harper and Bailey just weren’t mature enough. They were flush with cash and looking ahead. They weren’t going to go hard for the Scarlet Knights. Or anyone else.
Yea ok great

Even if that’s true it’s still an embarrassment..even at 70% they should make the NCAAT

Unreal..shows you how over hyped and clueless most college coaches are

Even the best freshman aren’t always so impactful when playing 22+ year olds. Bailey and Harper were plenty good at RU, but competing against more talented teams with grown *** men. I don’t think Pike is a great coach but I don’t think it’s on him either. Those kids were good as freshman but like most uber-talents the leaps they tend to make each year can be astronomical.

Brown did get a TO before Spurs had a chance to foul Mitch when the coach was telling them to do so
Absolutely correct. I think they went really small with Hart playing center until the under two minutes and The Spurs couldn’t foul Robinson intentionally. And then Robinson got the biggest offensive rebound of the Finals.

Absolutely correct. The Knicks went really small, I think they played Hart at center. Then Robinson came back in with two minutes to go when The Spurs couldn’t foul him intentionally and of course he grabbed the biggest offensive rebound of the Finals.

Reports are that Popovich was not too happy with Mitch's coaching either.

It was either Hart or Sochon I think when they were subbing Mitch back and forth to prevent the Hack-A-Shack strategy.

So you’re saying he gets a pass because they were playing men yet he just played extraordinary against even more grown men? Makes no sense

Also the spurs coach isn’t exactly Pat Riley himself

No I’m saying that Rutgers team with Harper and Bailey weren’t in the same class as numerous others in the Big 10, and that it isn’t uncommon for a team structured like that RU squad to struggle against older seasoned teams because even the best freshman have an adjustment period. Look at our 2000 squad.

I don’t think Pike is any great shakes either.

I am pretty sure Pop and I are not the only ones. But I gotta admit it, "Pop and I" has a nice ring to it.

And some here think I was just a rec league coach.
