USC had the number 1 recruiting class in 26, did well in the portal and will be ranked top 15.

Italy has missed the last 3 world cups. Silly comparison.

Italy did not qualify for the World Cup. It is unclear whether the poster missed that, or whether she knew that and was taking a shot at USC.
Not only did they not qualify, they did not qualify for the third consecutive WC Finals. I laugh every time I see somebody wearing an Italy jersey the past few days. Idiots.

Wny are they idiots for supporting their team. Imagine if someone said this to anyone wearing Rutgers gear at any time of the year.

Turkey was overrated.
By whom? They had to go to a playoff just to qualify. But they dominated austrailia in every aspect but goals - that’s soccer sometimes

Türkiye’s roster is mostly made up of guys in top 5 (or close leagues) where Austrailia is not

It’s just an opinion, relax. The World Cup just started and they’re wearing jerseys of a team that didn’t make it? Stupid.

Weird analogy, by the way, not really the same.

This is up there with your proclamations about why are people wearing light jackets to games because you're not cold.

Pundits. Australia allowed them to dominate possession. That was the strategy. Pack it in, drop back, counter when there.

The Dutch fans are nuts (in a good way). They shipped their signature orange double decker bus overseas to Galveston!

All 11 Dutch starters play in a top 3 league. Most of them in premier league. Impressive talent for a country the population of a million less than NY state.

4 Japan starters play in a top 5 league. Mostly bundesliga.

Who the hell is singing that song over and over - the Dutch? Sounds like Pop Goes the World?

edit: It looks like it’s the Japanese

He may have been born in NJ, though other sources also reference Arkansas, but he moved to Japan as an infant and never came back to the US after that.
Yeah, I’m seeing that he was born in Arkansas. Don’t see anything about New Jersey. Weird.

I guess that's because he moved to Japan at a very early age and never played in the US system so no one ever confirmed it. One article I clicked on said there is conflicting info on where he was born.

I think the Dutch may have gone a little too hard in the Texas Sun earlier today. They’ve probably got 75% of the support in the stadium but they’re dead quiet lol!

Great match but the Dutch probably should’ve capitalized on some more opportunities. Anyway, coming in I think both sides would not have been upset with a tie here

Not a fan at all of new format. There's a lot of teams that just aren't good and the entire group stage is largely pointless / for seeding.

16/32 advancing to knock out made sense to me. 32/48 doesn't.

Few teams have all players born in their country . Mexico has players born in USA (2), Spain, Columbia and either Paraguay or Argentina.

Morocco and Algiera are made up of players mostly born in France.

USA has 5 born outside US and another not developed here (Balogun). Of the 5, Zendejas born in Mexico but developed in USA.

Jedi, Tillman, Dest all have 1 American parent

Balogun literally only American because his mom was 7 months pregnant and had to stay for birth then when to England. But his mom and he both wanted him to play for USA as I think they saw him born in USA as a sign from god and thankfully they did as he’s awesome!????

A number of French and Spanish national team players were not born in those countries either.

Declan Rice isn’t English and represented a different country before making the move to the English team.

Cape Verde "beats" Spain, 0-0. Unimaginable - what incredible defending and they almost scored in stoppage time.
