Halas backed down after a bs legal claim from Boss Daley about using the Chicago name. One presumes at least in part because Halas wouldn’t pay to close what at that time was a profitable (likely mob) horse racing business at Arlington Park.
Halas would’ve never left the city. the skin flint simply wanted the city to build him a stadium (sound familiar for your nut sack franchise) then pussied out and went to Soldier(’s) Field because he wouldn’t spend a dime of his own money to leave the city.
