You can build a heck of a nice stadium for a billion dollars. $1.45b for a renovation? GSA must be managing that project.

UF can do what they want, but it seems silly to me to spend that kind of money on a facility that gets used 8 or so days a year. At the end of the day, it is still nothing more than a football stadium.
How sacrilegious of you.😁

They revised it upward so that they could have all the amenities without cutting seating capacity. What the lemmings haven't perceived is how the seating will change in way that prices them out. Still, it will look nice.

Right. It WILL cost more to attend a Florida game after this is done.

Correct. The UF fans are excited right now because they are seeing all the gee whiz drawings and reading all the great reports of all the high end things the stadium will have. They won't be so excited when they get the new donation and ticket prices.

Just think of the players you could buy with 1.45 billion. Players now only want to know how much they are going to get with amenities second

AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, cost approximately $1.15 billion to build, with overall development and completion costs sometimes cited closer to $1.3 billion.

By the way, OT I just started watching Dutton Ranch. How did Sen. Elizabeth Warren get a leading role on that show? 🙂

They really needed to renovate. The Swamp looked nice on TV with "Welcome to The Swamp" but it was really a dump. It was really old. I wasn't impressed when I attended several games. It's nice that it is on campus, but not as nice as Willy B.

When NIL started, I heard a lot of folks say that college sports were on their way to becoming minor league pro teams licensed to carry the names of the schools. They may be right about the licensing part, but as your stats above show, there's nothing minor league about what's going on at the P4 level of college football. I haven't heard of the NFL getting involved in the discussions about "saving" college sports, but if the eligibility rules go away, the NFL is going to have a very deep-pocketed major league competitor that grew up under their noses.

Well, It was (is)A terrible, old, dilapidated, POS, place to watch a game in person. About as bad as Neyland. So there's that.

New stadium which if I can remember the first game in stadium will be October 2026. Roughly half the size of Gator stadium and price tag is 862 million usd.
