12+ players from SC playing in the world series. Strong for a state that doesn't have a team in the WS. Texas has over 40.

We (The Citadel) played UGA and OU this past season. UGA walked us off and we were on the front end of OU getting hot in the tournament.
I don't dislike UGA baseball, but the OU team has grown on me. I'm pulling for them.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Troy vs Bama final. I personally think it's going to be West Virginia vs Oklahoma in the finals.
I recall standing next to the Sooner bullpen in the Atalanta regional finals. A loose, lively bunch. After the final out, I quickly congratulated Grant Stevens, their Pitching Development Coach, and wished them well in Lawrence. We had a few pleasant conversations during the game. Me and someone else asked him about Ice Hockey, and he advised that like USC, OU sponsors Ice Hockey only at the club level. Okay.
I expect noticeable improvement for Gamecock baseball in 2027. Maybe not advance in the postseason beyond the SEC tournament, but least be competitive. Postseason for 2028 and beyond. Of course, you never know one way or the other.

It was the complete game that impressed me. And no letdown in the 9th.
USC played both as well. And elCid competed better. Yeah, I have a spot in my heart for the Sooners as well.
I'd like to see Troy and Bama in the final as well. But as much as I hate to say it, UNC and UGA look like the cream of the crop... UNC with pitching and UGA with their offense.
This just in, Skyler Meade takes down Ole Miss to live another day. Awesome game.

Who is to say that Meade would or would not have had that kind of success in Columbia? My guess is comparable to Kingston, but probably with a better attitude towards the fan base.
We're now assured of a final which is not completely SEC. And, I think that's good for the college game.
UGA can give up a lot of runs, but they manage to score more than they give up most of the time. When their pitching is even decent, they are pretty well impossible to beat.
Would Golden Corral recruits be better than Waffle House recruits? Waffle House: sit on your butt while the food you ordered is set in front of you. Golden Corral: get up and WALK to the buffet to load your plate, then WALK back to your table to sit down again... However, second helpings would negate the health benefits of walking. Tough call!
All I know is what didn't work here and that was the guy calling the shots at the time. I almost think anyone in the dugout could have made better decisions but the fact we had evidently a future coaching star in there blows the mind.
Agreed having another conference in the final is good... almost like that was the intent. Super tough bracket on the other side.
That actually is a great Question, I would probably go with the Waffle House recruits, seems that those attending WF, is a later crowd, Hopefully after practice and not missing practice, , the Golden Corral group is going there in lieu of practice.. (i think they were missing a lot of Practice this past year.
OU vs UGA was a fun game to watch last night. OU is still hot. They are in the catbird seat on their side of the bracket.

Had WVU beaten UnCarolina yesterday and they were playing tonight and beaten the Holes again, I might still be pulling for the Sooners.
For sure I'm pulling for them now, and it's not SEC-related!
