But what does he really believe? He wants to get elected so he's no longer parroting woke talking points.
He said those things years ago because he wanted to get elected in a super-liberal Austin state House district. Every political candidate in the country adjusts their rhetoric to their audience.

Similarly, most Republicans in Congress don't actually like Trump but almost every single one of them pretends to in public because it's an auto-loss in the primary if they don't.

Anyway, for some reason, Dems are really insistent that biological males who go through male puberty must be allowed to participate in women's sports the minute they claim to be women. That just strikes me as a bizarre, absolute position to have.
The only prominent Democrat who has ever really fought hard for full sports participation is Maine's governor Janet Mills, and we all just saw what her state thinks of her today. Lots of Democrats formally oppose allowing transgender participation in sports (or at least letting states ban it if they want), including Joe Biden and Gavin Newsom, and most of the rest just kinda shrug it off, hoping the issue will go away. I think it is almost universally known among Democrats that this is a loser issue, which is why you see Talarico distancing himself from his former comments and none of the Democratic candidates in states like NC, OH, AK, etc., ever mentioning this.

Will Talarico's opponent distance himself from his own record, which goes way beyond merely saying a silly and cringy sentence? Not likely.

So he has no basic beliefs. It's just a desire to attain power and status. I'm with you on the Republicans demeaning themselves before Dear Leader but they're not far off on policy and certainly haven't renounced cultural stances they took just a couple of years ago.

Newsome changed his mind to have a national appeal. He was once for it and most Dems, when asked to vote to limit transwomen in women's sports, don't support it. You're simply inaccurate on that one. Even Ossoff, a reasonable Dem, voted against banning transwomen from women's or girls sports. Almost all Dems did and will continue to do so. Only a minority of Dems take the reasonable position that biological men and boys shouldn't compete against women and girls.

I don't like his opponent and I could post more woke nonsense spouted by Tal on X and in public that goes beyond a sentence of two. And the fact that he believed he must say God is non-binary and whiteness is a virus shows the shallowness of modern progressivism, Austin style, that relies on absurd pieties as the basis of public policy. Perhaps he's changed. He did perhaps call Allred a mediocre black man.

Hold up- do you think God is a man or woman?...like God actually identifies as a gender like humans?
If so, this is interesting since I learned God is a divine spiritual entity and not simply a man or woman.
Someone earlier seemed to also view God as a gendered being. It'd be interesting to hear what religion(s) taught this.

I don't even know where this is going. I've never in my life heard anyone disagree or take issue with the objective biological fact that transwomen ("biological men" in your framing) do not have the necessary organs to get pregnant. You will not find a single person on this board who pushes back on this statement.
A. I didn't ask you.
B. Say it. Say this "A transwoman can't have a baby". There are plenty of people who won't say it. You'll be one of them.

"A transwoman can't have a baby." It's literally impossible in 2026. Maybe one day there will be full uterus transplants, but it hasn't happened yet.

I've been posting here for 20 years and I've never been more confused at someone's assertion than yours just now. You really think I (or any other poster here) would have a mental block about saying that? Have you never talked to a Democrat in real life? How is that even possible?

- Some states have recently removed discrimination protection for housing, employment, and more.
That means a landlord can evict a tenant for being trans.
It is illegal federally. Full stop.
- You brought up homosexuality, but that is different from being trans.
...you do know those are different things...right?
Gender identity has nothing to do with Christianity. A person can be a non-binary practicing Christian and nothing bad happens. They are simply a person practicing Christianity amongst others in the church.
There is no harm. There is no conflict.
The bible is very specific on homosexuality and trans.

But lets be clear here. Just b/c i think homosexuality and trans is morally wrong doesn't mean I hate them. I also think sex before marriage is morally wrong. I'm 44 and never been married. Believe it or not, i'm not a virgin.

We all sin and fall short, but that doesn't mean i shouldn't be called out for my sins.
- I don't know why you are bringing up womens sports, bathrooms, or changing rooms. Those aren't religious issues. Those are social issues.
I have not claimed or suggested you hate trans people either, so you saying you don't hate them isn't needed.
Its part of the trans issue you dumb @$$. Mainstream democrats can't call it out just like they won't publicly go on the record and say "trans women can't have babies" or "men can't have babies".
- Biological males can't get pregnant.

What do I win for saying that?
You get to be called sane.

Whatev. God isn't defined by constructs invented by gender theorists a few minutes ago. Saying he's non-binary is idiotic. (Jesus was male, btw). The article you posted confirms what I wrote at least for Catholics. FYI, non-binary is a gender category and one that's based purely on self-identification. God isn't non-binary, He isn't agender, He isn't gender fluid, He isn't trans or any of the other genders under the umbrella term non-binary. He's God.
