I don't see Platner having any chance against Collins...

Jimmy Fallon Ok GIF by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
"But nearly nine months after Republican Donald Trump won a second presidential term, Democrats appear to be harboring more resentment about the state of their party than do Republicans. Democrats were likelier to describe their own party negatively than Republicans. Republicans were about twice as likely to describe their own party positively.

"They're spineless," Cathia Krehbiel, a 48-year-old Democrat from Indianola, Iowa, said of her party.

She believes the party's response to the Trump administration has been "scattershot."

"I just feel like there's so much recently that's just going abhorrently wrong," Krehbiel said. "And they speak up a little bit and they roll right over."
____________________________________________________________

"Still, the Democrats' frustration appears to reflect their concern that party leaders are not doing enough to stop Trump's GOP, which controls Washington."

Doesn't understand the disapproval numbers are due to Democrats anger with their own party for allowing Trump to win again and not doing anything to stop his authoritarian rampage. It is not a reflection of how they feel about new candidates for office.

Platner has the support of the radical left. Not the mainstream D's, I's or Rs.

The radical lefties are about radical lefty candidates.
Well, he got roughly 78% of the votes in yesterday's primary. Are all of those primary voters "radical lefties?" I think not.

He could lose the general. But the negatives that have come out about his sexting, etc. pale in comparison to your Orange Hero's negatives. Collins has mouthed statements about being an independent, but she has a history of voting with Trump 95% of the time. And she has been protecting Cheeto from the Epstein stuff, making it harder for that stuff to come out. Anyone who votes with Trump 95% of the time is not a moderate. They are a MAGA.

With low voter turnout. Moderates stayed home.

No one ever said you're not a true believer. Good luck with Collins and your Orange Master. BTW, do you agree with Cheeto that the Iran War is gonna end any day now, and that inflation is a "good thing?"

Probably,.. Primary voters tend to be the extremists on both sides, and with Maine's semi-open primary policy there shouldn't have been any registered Republicans attempting to taint the water,.. So yeah, mostly radical lefties.

There is absolutely no good reason to support a POS like Platner unless the opponent is an even bigger POS, which Collins obviously isn't. Anyone defending Platner is a POS. Yes, I said it.

Graham Platner cheated on fiancée and bragged Nazi tattoo was reminder ‘US was the evil bad guy,’ lover tells Post

https://nypost.com/2026/06/11/us-ne...ncee-bragged-about-nazi-tattoo-ex-girlfriend/

Maine Senate nominee Graham Platner kept his hideous Nazi tattoo to remind himself “the US was the evil bad guy overseas,” according to an ex-girlfriend with whom he cheated on his fiancée in 2021.

The left-wing streamer, who spoke to The Post, is the second woman to say that Platner knew about the fascist origin of his Totenkopf skull and crossbones tattoo — despite his claims that he didn’t realize it was a Third Reich symbol until last fall.

Her assertions were backed up by texts reviewed by The Post that she’d sent to her mom in September 2025 in which she blasted him for his “Nazi tattoo,” “small d—k” and claims that he tarnished her reputation by using her to step out on his fiancée.

You support a guy who has been married three times and cheated on every one of them. Including his current wife with a porn star. STFU.

Kind of shows how unpopular & poisonous Trump & MAGA are right now
Platner isn't running against Trump, and I don't think Collins is MAGA.

This is truly the epitome of party politics being more important than character. It's no different than the religious right support for Trump.

Collins perhaps calls out Trump more than most in the GOP, but when it comes down to it she almost always caves in.
It's laughable to say Platner isn't running against Trump. The entire GOP is Trump. That's how he wants it. Plantner is a flawed candidate, but he's tapped into how angry people are, just as Trump did.

Yeah. I remember Trump winning and people saying the same thing about Kamala and Hillary and the left having a “it’s the Dems fault!” fit.

So go ahead and blame Trump for Dems voting for a woman abusing, commie with a Nazi tattoo over the most moderate person in all of congress. Makes sense.

Oh…so your argument that someone so steeped in German history didn’t know he was getting a Nazi tattoo. Great argument. Lol
Just say you don't have any evidence other than a decision a couple drunk guys made one night in Croatia because they thought the tattoo looked cool. But you know they really wanted to exterminate Jews because you say so.

It’s what he has said and done. Between his tattoos and what his ex-girlfriend’s have to say.

if CNN is choosing not to show it, that’s on you
Dude, we've heard it all, every bit of it and nothing proves he's a Nazi - nothing. He admits that after four tours of duty in hell holes like Fallujah, he came back screwed up and was a bad boyfriend but there were no allegations of sexual assault or beatings.

The only reason the Right is obsessed with the subject is because they think it absolves them of their absurd adoration for a man who's worse - a man born with a silver spoon and bone spurs, who has no reason to act like the devil but does so anyway.

So we take your moralizing with a grain of salt because we know it's an effort to absolve yourself of your own guilt.

I'm certainly not an expert on all congresspeople, but I have a hard time believing Collins is the most moderate person. She votes with Trump 95% of the time. She says she's pro-choice but got Trump's Supreme Court pick over the finish line that eventually overturned the law. And she didn't vote to impeach Trump bc she "felt he learned his lesson."
If she truly believed that, she'd qualify for possibly the dumbest person in congress.

WASHINGTON — Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins and Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick were the most bipartisan members of Congress last year, according to a newly released analysis from the Lugar Center and the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University.

I stand corrected. I still think Collins has a lot of weaknesses to attack for Platner, & she really isn't very moderate on several issues. She was fine w Trump's Iran war. She's voted against voting rights & is for the SAVE act. And you can't call yourself pro-choice & be the deciding vote in confirming the Supreme Court justice that casts the vote to overturn Roe v Wade. Plus I think people are perhaps waking up to the fact continually electing senior citizens isn't what's best for the country. That said, Dems won't decide if Platner gets elected, independents will.

Even Bill Maher is roasting how absurd of a candidate this loser is

“And two, get used to it, America is a country filled with a lot of broken, horribly educated, phone addicted, sort of nutty people, and as long as we live in a representative democracy, we are always electing our reflection in the mirror.”

Poor character shown by drump is ignored by his backers. Maybe the other side has to fight fire with fire.
That is not my preference, but I am also not eligible to vote in Maine.
