He's right though. I just hope stein can be anywhere close to the caliber of coach Franklin is. He's got the recruiting pitch nailed

Stein will cut your balls off. lol!

He says to make donations specifically to UK football.

Gotta love his aggression.

Franklin was 4-26 at PSU against the top 10 and 16-36 against ranked opponents. That was AT Penn State! That is a pretty low bar to beat.
He was also in the top 10 every year and top 5 a lot of those.
Using that criteria Mark stoops would be the worst coach to ever coach a football game. Yet some of our fans think he was great for a period of time

He's a decent coach, good recruiter. I don't think I've seen him win games where he didn't have at least equal, if not superior, talent. He's a good middle tier coach and he's back at a middle tier school.

He finished the season unranked 2014, 2015, 2020, 2021, 2025 in the AP. And in the AP, PSU's best finish was ranked 5th.

I was extremely pleased when Will was hired. However, I had know idea he was going to be this incredible of a recruiter.

Y'all are a little overboard. He was at penn state 12 seasons and was inside the top 8 in the country in 10 of those. In the big 10 that's pretty impressive
Apparently, you aren't referring to the end of the season rankings or referring to a different poll? What I am seeing (from the AP) is that Franklin finished inside the top 9 in 5 seasons not 10. Again, in 5 seasons PSU was unranked which means they finished ranked in 7 seasons.

If for nothing else, an experienced coach shouldnt be taking cheap shots at a mid-30s first time head coach whose just trying to get his footing. Have some decency. If anything experienced coach's should sort of provide a little guidance where they can. Like a "one thing I wish I could have done different early in my coaching career is...". Very much punching down and its a bad look.

The caliber of coach to get fired? I hope Stein is much better than that. The only reason he’s done well for is because he has recruited well, now it seems that’s not even there anymore. At least going H2H with a rookie head coach in Stein. If Franklin sees UK on a players list, he might want to skip that one. lol.
