Comparing Ferrari to Nico in terms of wrestling on his knee is incredibly ingenuous, even for you.

Go back to your Sidun posts, even though he’s never put on a PSU singlet. And that’s not really close either. Some of us actually watch the matches.

You should really just suck it up about Angelo when it comes to wrestling on his knee and his offensive strategy. We know you love the family, but what he is doing is pretty much unprecedented at that level of competition, and not in a good way for fans.

Nico might hit a knee occasionally, but usually he was on his feet twisting and moving his opponents. Initiation of offense was frequent. Almost all of the offensive wrestling involving Delgado was off of Nico shots. One of the funniest comments I ever heard about Nico was McDonough noted Nico was always stalling but great at looking busy. Nico was right in my face, forever present, pulling, pushing, tugging and never letting up. At the end of my matches with Nico I was tired, busiest and most aggresive staller, ever.

You probably watch 10 times the amount of wrestling that I do. Once again you don’t grasp my response. Your post reeks of assuming most of us haven’t watched Nico his whole career.

Yes, your point about Ayala is fair. The original poster lumping Ayala and Ferrari together is pretty ridiculous. But instead of pointing that out, you decided to take a shot at Nico. So instead of posting on solid ground, you made a post that is just as ridiculous- and anti-PSU on the PSU board. I have trouble remembering a time you did that on the Iowa board. Anti-Iowa, I mean. You’ve posted anti-PSU stuff plenty of times over there.

So, you do you. Lean into it, brother.

Agree and I was talking about Ayala. Angelo loves a knee and is on it often no doubt . I play my role here just fine 😂😂

This it the type of gatekeeping that's unacceptable. I watch as much wrestling as anyone and quite frankly I don't know crap in the end.

I watched 16U National Duels during the break in Pan Am Free. I didn't know hacky sacks were a thing again until I saw a bunch of kids on an empty mat on one of the feeds. Watched Pan Am Greco today except for Final X.

But again, I know less than most.

Did you read the post I responded to? Dice didn't have an issue with it and I was responding to him so not sure why you would

This is awesome. Where was this filmed at? It’s all grappling. Oklahoma A&M. Are they still around? Princeton, VPI… was PSU wrestling good in those days?

Not sure if that was sarcasm, assuming it was not. Oklahoma A&M is now known as Okie St.

The 1937 tournament was hosted by Indiana State.

The 1937 Rules looked like this:

  • Bouts are 10 minutes in length, with 2 three-minute extra (overtime) periods if no winner is determined in regulation. Both extra periods shall start in the “referee’s position”.
  • If a takedown occurs in the first 2 minutes of the bout, it shall become a continuous 10-minute bout.
  • If no takedown or fall occurs in the first 2 minutes, the remaining 8 minutes are divided into two 4-minute periods, with each wrestler starting on top in one period.
  • If a wrestler scores a fall in the first 4-minute period, this terminates only the first 4-minute period. The other wrestler has the opportunity to score a fall in a faster time in the second 4-minute period.
  • Consolation bouts consist of three 2-minute periods. A referee can call for extra periods if he is unable to declare a winner in regulation.
  • Any part of both shoulders held in contact with the mat for an appreciable length of time (2 seconds) constitutes a fall.
  • If no fall has resulted after the end of the regular period of wrestling, the referee shall award the bout to the wrestler who shows greater wrestling ability and aggressiveness, provided the wrestler has a riding time-advantage of at least one-minute.
  • The one-minute riding time advantage is not necessary to declare a winner in extra periods or consolation bouts.
Seven of the eight finals were decided by riding time advantage. The 135 bout was the only referee's decision.

There were 24 teams in the tournament (no Penn State - Haverford, Lafayette, and Lehigh represented the great state of Pennsylvania) and 83 wrestlers across the 8 weight classes.

Final team standings:

Wrestling may have evolved since the 1937s but the arguments don't appear to have ...
It's still about stalling, twooo (or now threeee) and how bad the ref sux with an occasional get together on the bridge or under. I can never remember where you go to silly slap each other.

Dice may have had an issue, maybe not, but Dice is too nice of a person to say anything.

I am definitely not too nice of a person to tell you that when people are knowledgeable others know without being told.
Believe me Dice would tell me .

I'm sure there were people in the bleachers yelling, "C'mon ref!! He's stalling!!"
