Ironic that

Jude Ken Curry issued a preliminary injunction Monday June 8th that prevents the NCAA from punishing Sorsby for violating its rules on sports gambling. I'm no legal expert but isn't it the job of they Attorney General's office to enforce the law? Judge Curry should be taking the heat on this for his absurd ruling, not the Attorney General's office.

Now the question becomes who and how high will NFL teams bid on his services? The player certainly has the potential to become a franchise QB but that's obviously not a certainty. That and he comes into the league with major baggage.

If you're a QB needy team would you sacrifice your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round pick? The answer might be where you would pick in the 2027 draft and are you willing to take a player who will be scrutinized throughout the league?

I'm a Jet fan so my choice would be to steer clear of him.

Soresby should have no complaints if even the NFL steers clear. These are the consequences of his actions. I do empathize with him with his gambling addiction though. We will have many more gambling addicts with all of the Networks sportscasts featuring Fanduel and the like.

I wouldn't touch this guy with a 10-foot pole. First, the obvious Art Schlichter vibes, and also ... he's just not that good. I probably watch more college football than any other sport (which doesn't make me a GM, but I've flagged an awful lot of stiffs), and I never got it with this guy, even before the whole gambling problem cropped up.

One other thought. I would assume that Sorsby will face some sort of suspension next season. Could be a long one.

Still, some GM is going to roll the dice on him with the question being the stakes of that roll.

The whole thing is laughable and past ridiculous. No D1 team should have ever even considered him but they know they can get judges that are alums and control the outcome. Rules and the NCAA mean nothing to regents and board members at schools. Where was the President and AD in all of this? Cowering under their desks afraid to speak up or the big bad board will fire them and they lose their cushy jobs. Thankfully the Big 12 stood up finally and forced this outcome.

You expect a league to impose a sanction on a player not yet part of a collectively bargained union workforce?

This would be like a suspension for disorderly conduct in a warm weather climate around the holidays for a junior who was training and drank too much on a Friday night.

Disorderly conduct.... that fictitious junior you mentioned SHOULD get suspended

Frankly. I couldn't make heads or tails about your analogy. I was responding on principle.
It isn't an analogy. It is very simple if a player is under a active cba player-team contract they face personal conduct policy regardless of adjudication outcome.
