My Son is a graduate of Texas Tech. I encouraged him to attend Tech because I though they offered a better education in his discipline.
The big 12 schools do not have the kind of money the power conference schools have. One of them found a booster who is putting them on equal footing. how you read that as an insult is just baffling to me but you do you.
They are a great university and one that I respect and root for.

People like this usually have something going on in their lives and it bleeds out in places like this. I don't take it personally. a lot of people are struggling right now. My heart goes out to anyone who is. I've been there, more times than I care to remember. Losing a child will put you in a dark place. It's a miracle I recovered.

Back to the subject at hand. For those interested, my son told me this evening that most of the Tech alumni are furious with the way they are handling this and Hocutt (tech ad) is getting inundated with calls and messages demanding he remove sorsby from the team.

I'm starting to think he never plays a down for them. They may be looking for a way out without looking like they are caving to pressure. The Texas AD threatening to sue the Big 12 on Tech's behalf backfired on them. Especially considering the Tech booster driving this train helped fund the AD's (paxton) run for senate.

I think Tech does the right thing and I think they'll still win regardless. That team is loaded.

Yep we did business with people in Amarillo and Lubbock for years and some that I have contact with yet are not happy with this situation. Sounds like Cody Campbell is trying to run the show and doesn’t appear to be backing down. It will be interesting to see what happens.

they certainly got him eligible by friendly court. now, we'll see if b12 members ball-up and do something based on conference bylaw violations.

its athletic directors are obviously pissed. but presidents make the decisions. and they are generally a bunch of political geldings.

i frankly don't expect much if anything to come of this. b12 presidents will take the easy route, deferring to the court, rather than risk a high profile, costly court battle with cody campbell university.

in the end, it may work to the conference's advantage to have a villain. texas used to fill that role.

They will be fine with or without him. With the defense they are going to field they won't need an explosive offense.

last year their defense was offensive, so good along the front. but then there's the "friday nights joey" variable walking the sidelines. we shall see.

The Big 12 can decide against Texas Tech in whatever fashion they would like, but Paxton, a securities fraud felon who plea bargained out of it years ago with a friendly Texas judge, is now the AG in Texas and Paxton is running for the Senate or House. Anyway a corrupt politician in an election year-- he will hit the Big 12 with lawsuit after lawsuit and any university for that matter. He's already said as much. And guess who Paxton's top donor is? Think Red Raiders.....
