Buy stockFor someone who has never bought stock, how does one go about investing in something like this?
Fidelity has a really simple app. My retirement advisor is Edward Jones but Fidelity is so easy for investment in the market. Link a bank account to put money in or take money out and your good to go.For someone who has never bought stock, how does one go about investing in something like this?

Mutual funds are safer, less reward, less risk , but you really don’t learn about investing in the market. I’m about 85% mutual funds and 15% stocks. Mutual funds I buy for the long term, stocks are short term investments for me.Buy mutual funds from vanguard, fidelity or t Rowe price. That’s a perfectly fine strategy if you like to keep your with it & do a little research on the companies you’re buying & owning. Personally I like to put it on autopilot.Mutual funds are safer, less reward, less risk , but you really don’t learn about investing in the market. I’m about 85% mutual funds and 15% stocks. I mean all people have to do is just not invest.Think I’ll mostly wait for the chaos to subside on this one.
Between his automotive company that is actually a “charging company”, and his private space exploration company that is actually an AI company, it’s kind of hard to follow the money and really gauge WTF is going on with any of Musk’s major endeavors.
Neither of those ventures has come anywhere close to generating the profitability and growth that is built into the stock price for each.
I bet his IQ is higher than 99.5% of people. Clearly he isnt dumb. You don’t have to like him but the man is smart as crap and puts his money where his mouth is.

He should get credit for having big ideas and being able to identify and integrate.
At the same time, he says so much BS at such a high frequency, it is difficult to sort through it all.
Him being stumped by not being able to sufficiently explain why something he wants should even exist is both funny and not uncommon.
You guys are all welcome to say this about me one day*People want to think he is some brilliant inventor / engineer but he is neither. He is the mouth piece after he buys a company.
I saw a clip where Charles Barkley wanted to buy $300k of Google's IPO and his financial advisors told him it was stupid and overpriced. That $300k would be worth about $3 billion today.Did anybody else get in? Quite a nice day.
So do you think space travel is going to become a common occurrence in the future where SpaceX is like Delta airlines or FedEx for delivering goods to space?I saw a clip where Charles Barkley wanted to buy $300k of Google's IPO and his financial advisors told him it was stupid and overpriced. I'm going to wait until it drops under $150 and buy some for my kids. I think its the closest thing to "This could be Google big" we've had in a while.
It will never be anything like that. But SpaceX is already delivering goods (satellites and supplies for the ISS) and has been for several years. And they are the clear leader with Blue Origin struggling badly. SpaceX has 6 launches coming up in the next 9 days, which is a pretty insane schedule. If you want to take a gamble, you could short their stock for a few weeks from now. If one of those rockets blows up you could make a lot of money. Probably won't happen and you'd just lose your investment. So do you think space travel is going to become a common occurrence in the future where SpaceX is like Delta airlines or FedEx for delivering goods to space?
At the end of the day, how is this company making money? Maybe I need to do research for myself but it feels like the Southpark episode of the underpants gnomes.
Ha, funny wording for this thread...stock or rocket?I am curious when we see another crash. I feel like it is coming soon, but we will see.
If a rocket crashes, the stock will crash too.Ha, funny wording for this thread...stock or rocket?
Touche. I guess it could be one and the same.If a rocket crashes, the stock will crash too.
Stock hahaHa, funny wording for this thread...stock or rocket?

He isn't necessary the inventor but he darn sure has a lot of ideas that get the inventions going. Same with a lot of great people.Dude is pretty far on the spectrum. He is smart in that he knows something to invest in and take advantage of. He isn't the intelligence behind any of his companies, he is the money and the ideas behind how to take them public.

SpaceX is already doing things that generate revenue. But hey don't invest. You don't have to.So do you think space travel is going to become a common occurrence in the future where SpaceX is like Delta airlines or FedEx for delivering goods to space?

We will always have market corrections. And thats not really a bad thing.I am curious when we see another crash. I feel like it is coming soon, but we will see.
Dude, what?We will always have market corrections. And thats not really a bad thing.
Funny to me everyone was mad at the people who got bailed out in 2009, but no one was mad at the government for bailing them out.
Like lmao - what was he on? - America was so mad at the government for the 2008* bailouts, that we elected the young black guy to president rather than a white war hero. Because we were that pissed at the republicans.Dude, what?
Countless people were 17ing furious with the government for bailing companies out.
It was highly contentious and heavily discussed.
The problem though is those markets are pretty tapped out. Wheres the revenue growth going to come from? Is NASAs budget going to go to $500B and be SpaceX exclusive? Is Starlink going to replace all other forms of communication? The valuation is so insane that even if both of those happened, it STILL wouldn't support the valuation. Well, they all say we're sending humans to Mars so that would be tremendous revenue growth. Of course that's a completely unrealistic fiction that it's even possible to send humans to Mars (at least ones that would survive the trip, landing, ascent and return flights), much less that we're actually going to do it. But it's a great way to get a LOT of funding in the meantime. The problem though is those markets are pretty tapped out. Wheres the revenue growth going to come from? So, its AI.
SpaceX also launches for DoD and many private entities. They're not depending on NASA alone. The problem though is those markets are pretty tapped out. Wheres the revenue growth going to come from?
