He is young but very talented. I posted about him back on May 2nd, we have been on him for a while. Projected future lottery pick for 2028 and the top rated overall SG in that class. Would be a massive pickup and much more than a developmental piece. Dark Pope one time?Maybe a bench developmental piece like Brayden Hawthorne was last year?
Agreed we have a need for another SG and ball handler. Why not? Dark Pope, work your magic
Apparently, Nikola liked Pope's recruiting pitch.I’d suspect Unc is the front runner here
Would be a great late insurance pickupApparently, Nikola liked Pope's recruiting pitch.
We only have two strongish guards. That’s 30 mpg when you add a 3rd. Make it 25-30 and they should be fine. The question will be minutes on this team especially if we add another player who can play. There will probably be some unhappy players.
That's one problem. I wish we had every year on a consistent basis. The question will be minutes on this team especially if we add another player who can play. There will probably be some unhappy players.
I also think the 2 spot is the most questionable on the roster right now. I *think* Wilkins will be good and could become a star, but there's always a question about the jump in competition until he proves it. I assume he'll also be playing minutes at the 1 and the backup 2's are Morton and potentially Mason Williams. I'm not sure Kam or Hawthorne have enough ball handling to play the 2 but I guess they could provide cover there in a pinch.Wilkins and Diallo are going to have to play a ton of minutes as it is. Having another 2 who can play would help. How fast do we want to play?
He'd most likely be our starting 2 and Wilkins would come off the bench to backup the PG and SG spots. I believe the recruitment is moving quickly, what a get this could be for Dark Pope!this dude is 6'8"-6'9"......so another guy taller than ULs center
Check the UCONN tournament game highlights of Wilkins. I think he will adjust to the jump in competition just fine.I also think the 2 spot is the most questionable on the roster right now. I am not worried about Wilkins being able to score the ball at either guard spot. He's going to be fine as long as he stays healthy. Diallo is going to be solid at the 1 too, but not flashy. He's not a huge scorer. He's big and physically mature at the point and won't back down. Diallo reminds me of the guards MSU and A&M have had. Physical, and can hold their own.I also think the 2 spot is the most questionable on the roster right now. I think so too, and I think he'll also benefit from playing off-ball more rather than be forced to do everything like he was at Furman - but it would always be nice to have an extra piece on the roster just in case.Check the UCONN tournament game highlights of Wilkins. I think he will adjust to the jump in competition just fine.
Wilkins not coming off bench at least not early. He'd most likely be our starting 2 and Wilkins would come off the bench to backup the PG and SG spots. I believe the recruitment is moving quickly, what a get this could be for Dark Pope!
Possibly, but for me it's hard to say no to starting our highest ceiling guy which would be Nikola if we signed him. Could always run a 3 guard lineup and slide Milan to the 4. I know he is young but he is going to be a top 5 NBA pick in 2 years more times than not, hard to see him not getting a ton of playing time if we signed him.Wilkins not coming off bench at least not early.
Time to revive our own version of 40 minutes of Hell.Wilkins and Diallo are going to have to play a ton of minutes as it is. Having another 3 who can play either spot ( maybe slide him to the 2) would help. There would be a lot of mouths to feed. We'd have to play fast and increase the number of possessions.
That governor-imposter-creep would be ecstatic to know that.hey .... buds .... c'mere ... I got some info you all might wanna know....
*whispers* "He's only 17"
Morton will be fine as a backup in any league. Not a must get, but I think it raises the teams ceiling. I'm not sold on Morton or Williams as SEC ready backup guards.

Yeah, I'd love to know what we spent on this roster. I remember people, supposedly in the know( Cutler, Goose, Matt Jones), claiming that we wouldn't have as much money this year as we had last year. I bet we spent more than last year, especially if Mom got what's been reported. Also shows we have even more money, which is awesome.
I got sick of some of the weak portion of our fan base crying about how we barely exceeded $15 million last year, when everyone on the inside knew we exceeded $20 million.
UK should outspend everyone.
That’s why I said at the beginning. He would take time to adjust physicallyPossibly, but for me it's hard to say no to starting our highest ceiling guy which would be Nikola if we signed him. Pushing Top 5Get this guy and even I would put us top 10 preseason
