I don't discourage it, but just because something is slightly elevated shouldn't be a cause for concern. Avoid sex, get retested and profit.

Thats why the “physical” exam is also recommended. Doesn’t lie.
.5 is about as low as it gets. Not 5, .5 (half of 1).
There were good posts trying to help others, which I’m sure Ryan would appreciate.
Current Guidelines: Guidelines differ by organization. While some institutions include DREs (Whole hand Doc?) in routine checkups, organizations like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention note that major task forces don't always recommend the DRE as a mandatory screening tool due to a lack of evidence proving its benefits compared to PSA tests and advanced imaging.

Doc Jones always gives me a DRE when I see him every year. It's a little bit off-putting and I've been meaning to ask him about it, but otherwise, he is an excellent dentist.
