It is at the point where the level of money spent on college football is despicable. The sport is being ruined by NIL and the facilities race. It won’t be long at all before our $150 million facilities are surpassed by everyone and considered sub par. Which will then lead to our AD begging for more money to “upgrade”.

I do some fundraising stuff and one thing that always gets talked about it is how no one wants to give money for new plumbing or electric work. It is not "sexy"

But...for weight rooms and fields...people can't wait to pitch in. So you can see these old academic buildings on campus, that are clearly falling apart. But that is not sexy...but a bad *** new stadium is...

Truth to this. In Kansas several years ago we had a college “infrastructure” crisis that leaders wanted the taxpayers to bail out. I was in the business at the time and what happens is they go to Joe Blow and get them to donate money and put their name on the building. Then 10 years later when HVAC and electrical systems start to fail they want taxpayers to come to their rescue. You are right, no one wants to fund stuff you don’t see.

It isn't fun...Being the family/dude that donated the money for the boring stuff just isn't fun.

From what I have found out...it is easier to get 1 million dollars donated for "fun cool" stuff...than it is to get 100K donated for plumbing.
