How many of our Iowa guests have seen this classic? It mainly takes place in Georgia our next door neighbor. It is very long so if you want to watch it set aside an entire afternoon.

I've seen it once, at the Tampa Theatre - a 100-year-old theatre in downtown Tampa. In the summers they do a classic movie series on Sunday afternoons so wife & I went to see it. Great movie, but yeah = very long.

Sure. I'm an old movie watcher. Anything that once was on the ABC Sunday Night movie in the 70's, I've probably watched them all at some point. Also, TCM is the best movie channel ever.

GWTW is...OK. It's not a movie I need to watch every time it's on, so yeah, it's merely OK with me. Lots of great performances obviously.

What about just watching 45 minutes per night over the course of several days? Then a whole afternoon isn't wasted.

Great cinematography.

Honestly, given its cinematic historic importance, regardless of the state a person lives in, I'd regard failure to have seen it to be a form of cultural illiteracy.

It's like asking a South Carolinian if they've ever seen the Wizard of Oz. (And NOT the stupid reimagined versions of it)

Frankly, I didn't give a damn for the film.
I recall one of my first business dinners somewhere in the south 35+ years ago at a place called Bobby McGees. The staff dressed as characters from books and movies. Our waitress introduced herself as Scarlett O'Hara to which one of my colleagues quickly responded "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn". I was so embarrassed because she must have heard that 50 times every night.

I’ve seen it once straight through, many years ago. It was ok.
Most movies made before 1960 are pretty lame, IMO.
