I thought it was the Dominican that is known to price big leaguers. Not that Venezuela doesn’t, just haven’t heard that before.

We should look south for some baseball players. Specifically,Venezuela. Claims we could save a ton of nil because the kids down there just want to play and get to the dance eventually. Or if they flame out, they are still in Merica
Extremely difficult to get South/Central American high schoolers eligible. Would have to get them here for a year at a prep school.

Japan and South Korea are where this idea can matriculate.

I like the idea, but I think the biggest hurdle will be academic eligibility. There are Very different academic standards between US high schools and much of rural central/South America. Of course, academics don’t really matter anymore, so who knows
ACADEMICS?!?!?!
You mean these now hired “employees” and we have to worry about academics?!?

Anyone from Venezuela or the Dominican Republic good enough to play on our team would have already signed a pro contract before turning 18.

There may be opportunities in Japan or South Korea if we wanted to go that route, as they could play here 3 years and then go straight to the MLB Draft, bypassing NPB/KBO altogether, if that's something they're interested in.
