Agreed, first time since the Derecho of 2020 it’s been hot and humid in the summer.

I already schedule for an insurance adjuster to stop by my house on Thursday.

Decent tornado threat today if things can remain discrete.

Probably two rounds across the upper midwest today.

Another round tomorrow in Eastern Iowa before noon.

We got hit hard on the Eastside of IC about 11:20. Strong gusts, and torrential rain. Quite a few trees and branches littering the streets when I went to the gym about Noon. The funny thing is I knew it was going to rain, so I rousted the old dog and was herding her to the door trying to beat the rain, and then it cut loose. She looked up at me with a you gotta be kidding look, then wandered back over to her favorite spot on the couch.

I was driving the bus back through the IC area when it hit. I had to go on that huge overpass taking 80 eastbound onto 380 north right when the gust front hit. Hell, I hate that thing even in perfect weather.

The softball girls had a look of..."concern" on their faces as the wind buffeted ol' Betsy around.

Then we had to effectively ride the gust front all the way back to CR. Vehicles slowing down and some pulling over, can barely see its raining so hard.

Fun times, but made it home safe and sound.

Got my snow shovel out of the shed to push the sticks and limbs off the driveway. Saved the yard for tomorrow...

I hate that thing in the Winter. Nothing like being 60 feet up in the air on a slick road with the wind gusting and a moron driver flying past you.

What's your wife for? I suppose you let her vote, too.
She's my trophy wife. You want her to break a GD nail or something? I demand she votes or I cut her allowance. I fill out her mail in ballot for her...

A lot of them did. I'm 43 and today was the most damaging storm I've ever seen here. Next door neighbors had a 40 or 50 foot high pine snap off at ground level and took off their power line. The house I was working during the storm has a maple out front that threw a bunch of limbs as I was looking out the window and split down the middle. At the bottom of the hill is some woods. It was trippy hearing trees breaking and the crackling of limbs they were taking out on their way down.

Those south and along 80 this morning are going to get a whole lot of wind here the next few hours. The line is beginning to bow out and is throwing out widespread 60+ winds with the line itself is also racing at 60+.

Looks like Des Moines is next in a few minutes, and it kinda looks like IC and maybe even CR and QC will get some too.

And this is just the first line today. There's going to be another round behind it this afternoon...

Ok wtf, 2 day in a row with active tornado warnings in eastern Iowa and not one local network is cutting in with live coverage/updates. ******* trumps America.
Do you need this to happen? Can’t you see it on your phone or go watch a channel that would be showing it.
Either some of you are helpless or just love to bi.tch. Well probably both.

Graphics on Twitter don’t give you the same live up to the minute details as a livestream. Also for us weather dorks having a stream is nice to watch.
