It has been mentioned in a couple of posts but I havent heard anything official?
The only thing I can say is that it is 100% according to this website, as of May 29.

"ANALYSIS
Banks was lobbying for an additional year of collegiate eligibility to return to Iowa, but it's clear that is now out of the question. The senior guard averaged 10.2 points and 4.8 rebounds over his last two seasons between Drake and Iowa."

Can't we just take it to an Iowa City judge and have him rule Banks eligible?

Man, he should have claimed to be addicted to gambling.
If you're referring to me, for the record, I don't gamble or wager on sports. I try to provide the most recent information that I can find. And, this site along with the "College sports litigation tracker" site that covers past and ongoing cases involving college athletes, are my go-to sites since I haven't seen any recent stories or info brought to light elsewhere.

He is referring to Sorsby getting his eligibility despite betting on his team.

I’m probably in the minority but I believe Bank’s ineligibility will be net positive.

It is always tough to lose an experienced starter but IMO the opportunity to get quality minutes for the two freshman forwards is a big plus ….especially Thompson who has had a redshirt year in the system.
I definitely have thought the same. If he was a PG or SG I would feel differently but we project to already be very deep at the 3/4 positions.

You didn't hear? Some around here think he was a guard. He was not a guard on offense, could guard 1-4 probably on defense

Today tristan smith, a WR for Clemson received an injunction from a South Carolina judge allowing him a 5th year of eligibility.
Smith ,who attended a juco for 2 years sought the same treatment several players received last season, including vandy QB,Pavia, and the judge ruled that smith should get the same treatment as the circumstances were identical to Pavia.

There it is....Banks should also seek this ruling and return for one last season.

NCAA set the precedent themselves so this has some merit anyway.

Banks was listed as a G/F on the official Iowa site.

Not necessarily the case in college ball, but in the NBA these days, one's position is universally defined by who he can primarily guard

It worked in Lubbock... At this point Iowa should file in US District Court of Southern Iowa. There is already Federal legal model set with the Diego Pavia ruling. Banks should be able to gain a preliminary injunction. The persuasive precedent is there!

BMC has already stated he would take Tavion back in a heartbeat. A seasoned starter vs freshmen is a no-brainer
Of course the Nebraska troll would think it's better if we don't have Tate. At least he's consistent with his crap takes.
