I would not have sent him to Helen, GA. When we have been overseas we pretty much avoid most spots that are "like home". The one exception was there was an awesome biker bar in Argentina that played covers of popular songs. That place was great. They didnt speak English, but sung English fine.

Agreed. The area around Helen is nice but Helen is about as German as german chocolate cake. It is nothing but a tourist trap consisting primarily of souvenir shops, bars, and a few restaurants. It is a baited field for rednecks. Not impressed at all.
