Sterilized screwworm flies worked the last time,. do it again.
They did. They were introduced decades ago and we haven’t had the screwworm problem since 1966. America’s Governor Greg “I need to attend a fundraiser the same night that 19 children in my state were killed” Abbott is now asking for $750 million to build a factory to reintroduce the flies.

While the administration argued the cuts were necessary to reduce the federal deficit, agricultural experts and lawmakers warned that eliminating the early-warning surveillance network in Central America left the U.S. vulnerable to parasites moving northward. https://www.tallahassee.com/story/n...wworm-texas-florida-infected-dog/90459180007/

The loss of these funds—combined with the lifting of restrictions on live Mexican cattle imports and significant USDA workforce reductions—has been a major point of debate. When the New World screwworm was ultimately detected in Texas, it sparked an aggressive emergency response to deploy sterile flies and contain the parasite before it could inflict severe damage on the cattle industry. https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryro...-it-could-drive-up-beef-prices/?streamIndex=0

Restrictions on live Mexican cattle imports were first lifted on February 1, 2025, following a comprehensive agreement between the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and Mexican authorities. https://traderphd.com/blog/usda-lifts-mexico-cattle-import-suspension

Damn Biden and his lifting of restrictions in 2025!
