I’m not sure what Watauga brings back this year in 6A but I think Charlotte Catholic will be on rise to battle for 6A Championship title
When I watched the 6A game it looked like Watauga had a lot of seniors making plays. MaxPreps stats shows them pretty dominated on offensive production by seniors. Their coach is a good one but it might be a step back losing all that.
Crest always has a shot. I know they lost the Qb that moved their from ACR after Helene. Not sure what else they have coming back. But just reading the threads. Their people think they got enough on D to give them a chance. But as someone else mentioned 5a is tough! I think 5a may be the toughest class!
Watauga loses a lot of production. But you could make the argument that no one adjusts to his personnel better than Coach Habich.

Crest is LOADED in both sides. Got us a 6’4 inch gunslinger that had an offer already and Mark Barnes is gonna coach him up. Kid throws in the 90’s on the diamond too.
Offensive line is HUGE. Backup lineman are HUGE. When Barnes gets it to gel. Look out. Got the number 1 wideout in the State according to some. But he ain’t alone.
The defense is flat out going to be NASTY. People are gonna sleep on it because of what we lost but they’ll soon find out.
5A is LOADED nothing easy. Heck Cleveland County is LOADED.
Shelby will win 3a easily. They’re flat out gonna be good.
Burns is Loaded. Get the QBin order and they have a legit shot at the 4A title.
Kings Mountain is going to be HELL once young gun gets going. Believe it
Crest will be to deal with in 5A.

Got as many Freshman as we probably have on Varsity. That's a ton of kids coming in.
That would have been a deep team for Watauga in old NW4A days. Great to hear that about Pioneers.
Good to see these kids outside working hard and not spending the summer staring at their phones or playing computer games.
5A and 6A from top to bottom are the most complete and competitive divisions. The are multiple teams in each division that have the talent to get hot and make a run for the title. You will need to be good and catch a few breaks along the way.
The best part about Watauga is they run the same system from 6th grade all the way to 12th. These young men start learning an offense with a ton of wrinkles early on. I believe middle school and jv were undefeated last season as well. Habich has built a culture.
That being said, im not sure Watauga repeats. They won a few playoff games with experience and elite performance, that takes time to develop. I cant imagine they'll be on that level yet. I do think they go 2 or 3 rounds into the playoffs though.

Surprised no East Lincoln hype, think if they can get some help around their top talent they could go a long way

Crest continues to bring in talent from other schools and will be tough again this year. SP has some nice returning pieces and have significant pieces to replace. Great middle school team last year will not significantly impact for another year. Looking forward to the season.
