It’s a private non profit dude. A judge can absolutely tell them what they are and are not allowed to do. Operations across state lines means nothing. Do you think Ole Miss got that injunction from a Mississippi judge just so Chambliss could play home games this year? The NCAA isn't "federal," but it is national, operating throughout the country, and it is based in Indiana. A Texas judge has no authority over what any organization does outside of state borders, especially one based in another state.
Good luck to the Texas judge trying to enforce his ruling across state lines. It’s a private non profit dude. A judge can absolutely tell them what they are and are not allowed to do. Doesn’t need luck, it’s well within his authority.Good luck to the Texas judge trying to enforce his ruling across state lines.
Lol, so did Nebraska. Now it's getting real....Georgia has said that it won’t schedule Texas Tech in any sport. Other schools need to adopt This. Cancel every game.
The Texas judge has personal jurisdiction over the NCAA regarding its activities in Texas. I haven't claimed otherwise.Doesn’t need luck, it’s well within his authority.
Please Google what Personal Jurisdiction is.
Ok. What’s your point? Are you saying there might be issues with that act so the system should just be a lawless playground?
???? My point is obvious. Go back as long as you can remember and when was the last time the NCAA cracked down on on of the blue bloods or a big money school? I not saying they shouldn't control, I'm saying they won't, (unless its Iowa or NW or someone like that)....Ok. What’s your point? Are you saying there might be issues with that act so the system should just be a lawless playground?
I visited the Texas Tech board for laughs. One poster responded to the Big 12 commish's harsh statements with, "Screw this league , lets go to the Big10!!"
Texas Tech is not an AAU member, probably far from it, so the idea falls into the realm of pigs flying in a frozen hell.
It always has been. Fans didnt want to knowCollege sports is now, officially, pro wrestling. Congrats to the players for completely ruining it in less than a decade.
It always has been. No the joke is about somethings fans care about and it is now a joke? Our legal system has become a joke.
If I’m any of those guys that lost eligibility and the NCAA allows Sorsby to play, I’m suing for big dollars.
Have you read the case using case law? The case was about the swiftness of the NCAA ruling without full process of law. They haven't said its ok, but about the NCAA being a monopoly and making a quick decision made in part due to Pavia's case. It's called legislating from the bench. Bad and hypocritical as Sorsby and his agent are, the judge should be banished from the bench AND the bar. No more law license, end of story.
If it gets moved there. Fed courts also have corruptionA Texas judge doesn't have authority over a national organization. An extended injunction might allow Sorsby to play in games in Texas--or at least in Lubbock--but wouldn't apply anywhere else. The NCAA ban could remain in effect for road games, unless the NCAA voluntarily suspends it.
Federal court is the proper venue for this case.
Your Huskers are a joke too.It always has been. No the joke is about somethings fans care about and it is now a joke?
What do the huskers have to do with this? You should get out more.Your Huskers are a joke too.
This will either get overturned by the appeals court, or Texas Tech will decide to suspend Sorsby themselves. Otherwise all other schools will refuse to schedule them in the future.Good for the Big 12, but I doubt that takes effect for 2026. Canceling home games vs. Texas Tech will cost athletic departments money. Having to refund broadcasters for games that don't happen will cost a lot more money.
Idiot. Simply an idiotHave you read the case using case law? The case was about the swiftness of the NCAA ruling without full process of law. They haven't said its ok, but about the NCAA being a monopoly and making a quick decision made in part due to Pavia's case.
In some oneway this is reigning in the NCAA power which has also been a joke.
Some if you seem to be Bama fans
Do you think the other schools in the Big 12 Conference will have a choice to not schedule them? I can see the conference stepping in and not allowing that to happen. And I hope your prediction is correct. This will either get overturned by the appeals court, or Texas Tech will decide to suspend Sorsby themselves. I predict he never plays another down of collegiate football.
Integrity of the game left a long time ago. Due process is important and that does make sense.Idiot. Simply an idiot
This isn't about "case law". It's about the integrity of the game. The statement from the "judge" that Sorsby would suffer irreparable harm all but eliminates said integrity.
Good point.Do you think the other schools in the Big 12 Conference will have a choice to not schedule them? I can see the conference stepping in and not allowing that to happen. And I hope your prediction is correct.
