It’s going to be interesting to see what the “5 in 5” rule will affect junior baseball draftees and the leverage it will have. Plus there is a definite threat of no professional baseball next year with MLB negotiated contracts with owners expected to expire without new agreements in place.

“Perfect Game’s No. 128 overall recruit and No. 11 overall catcher…He’s ranked PG’s top player in North Carolina…”

Sources tell On3 that North Carolina is currently trending to land Kentucky catcher Ryan Schwartz. Posted four home runs and 19 RBIs this spring.

I wonder if we're the third visit being scheduled with Maginnis from Georgia State. We have one of his former teammates on the roster.

We’re pretty set in the INF. Would be surprised if we take another one that would expect playing time.

Prep Baseball Report had him 308 overall, 29 at his position nationally. They had him #7 overall, and #1 catcher in NC for '24.

Didn’t think about the potential work stoppage. I would think that would impact decisions.

And at this point, do we feel confident about the 5 for 5? The NCAA has virtually zero power - so I’m not so sure the number of 6, 7 and 8 year players isn’t going to expand.
