Pardon my ignorance but how do I go about getting tickets and Hotel recommendations? Will be my first time. 62 years old and not putting off anything anymore. Thanks in advance
Rams Club email just went out. Hotels are huge issue first weekend but can stay outside of downtown for a lot cheaper.

I saw the Rams Club request and put in for a couple tickets. I seriously doubt I will get them being about 5,000 on the rank list and if I do get them, I have no idea how to figure out work and all that but I told my wife, to hell with it bc I’ve always wanted to go and I’ll figure all that chit out later.

Don’t let tickets be your limiting factor. That’s sort of the tail wagging the dog. Tickets can be had even if you don’t get them through the Rams Club. Flights and hotel are way bigger issues and way more expensive.

So basically, just get the flight and hotel and figure out a way into the game later

ETA - I’m down for any cost saving tips and tricks on where to fly into and where to stay

Probably a discussion for another day, but we went to Student Stores last summer for the first time in three or four years. I was shocked by the poor merchandise mix and the over-the-top prices.

You didn't like the wide variety of 200 dollar quarter zips? It really is laughable to have that in a student store.

That’s my recommendation, yep, focusing on hotel and flight first.

Flying into Omaha can be expensive but have heard of others having success saving money by flying into Kansas City, renting a car and driving to Omaha from there.

Regarding hotels, depending on your budget I’ve heard of people staying outside of town in places like Lincoln, NE or even Council Bluffs, IA (right across the state line). Hotels are tough that first weekend. Also worth giving Airbnb a look in addition to traditional hotels.

I went two years ago; tickets aren't difficult to get. The secondary market is what it is, but nothing too crazy. I'd honestly wait closer to Friday before buying; the price of my section went down as it got closer to game time. As far as the Rams Club, I didn't even request through them because I didn't want to get stuck in the upper deck. I ended up standing in the concourse with former players behind the Carolina family section. I'd suggest buying a cheap ticket and doing that.

Yeah, I flew into KC two years ago and rented a car. Fortunately, I get discounted rates through work. I ended up staying at the Moxy in the Old Market. It was expensive, but honestly worth it, being able to walk to the ballpark and all of the bars. Never had to worry about getting an Uber outside of going to the Zoo on Sunday before the Tennessee game.

You just go for the opening weekend?

ETA - I’m guessing that the smart play if you’re trying to manage cost, work, all that is to go for the opening weekend and forego the possible title series. I wish I could stay there for that long but it’s not in the cards.

This right here. Went the last two years, game tickets are the easiest part. Lock that hotel in ASAP and figure things out from there.

You can also fly into Des Moines. Need to get the Google Flights app out to figure all the permutations.

Yep. And me personally I live in the Triangle but I found a good deal on a flight from Charlotte to Omaha, so I’m doing that instead of Raleigh to Omaha. Easy to do some tinkering on Google Flights and see which path(s) work best for your individual situation.

I’m an Omaha first timer this year but I have lots of friends who have done the trip in the past. In the past I kept telling myself I’d go if we made the championship series. This year I said screw it, I’m tired of waiting, so I’m going for the opening weekend. Flying in on Thursday and home Monday so I’ll see our first two games.

If we happen to make the championship series a few days later, I’ll definitely consider flying back out a second time for that. Definitely not the cheapest way to go about it if I end up flying twice, but going to Omaha is a bucket list item for me and I’m checking that off this year.

I’ve always been told the opening weekend is the most fun anyways with all 8 fanbases still there and all that. Think the atmosphere the opening weekend is the best atmosphere of the whole event. Again, just sharing what others have told me since I haven’t personally been before.

I'm looking at ticket packages... I see there is a midweek package for Tuesday and Wednesday... Are we guaranteed to play both those days?

When can we reasonably expect Friday's game time announced? Strongly considering flying family Charlotte to Des Moines but our best option doesn't land until 1pm. Plenty of time to make it by 7pm but obviously not the 2pm start.

I expect times to be announced once the suspended games conclude today as long as Alabama and Oklahoma win.

You can typically cancel flight within 24 hours on all major airlines so I’d just book it now and cancel if it won’t make it in time.

Don’t want to risk losing the seat.

Also a great campground on the lake not far, if you do that kind of thing.

My question is more of do we know for sure that we are Friday and Sunday or are we Saturday and Monday? Is that how it works? One side gets one day and the other side gets the opposite?

That's how it works, yes. All logic and reason points towards UNC playing Friday and Sunday, but I haven't seen anything like official in writing yet that says we play Friday.

I've tried to move heaven and earth to get to go, but, isn't going to be in the cards with everything I have going on unfortunately. Got my thrill yesterday. Will just have to party here at the house and put forth an A+ effort on the game threads

Flight booked out of Greensboro to Des Moines! Now the hunt for a hotel and tickets begins. This is a bit nerve racking. I am more of a planner so this on the fly stuff is not my thing.

Anyone have any knowledge of general rams club rank needed to get tickets for Omaha? I'm sure it's hard to gauge, I'm around 7000 so hoping that's high enough to get em.

It’s a big place so you will get tickets, but they will be upper deck.
