A much as I am in Starkville, I still haven't eaten there. The wife is partial to Dave's when it comes to pizza, but I hear nothing but good thing about Boardtown, gonna have to make it a priority.I don’t know of a better pizza place in MS. The combination of really good pizza and a great draft beer selection goes a long ways.
I finally achieved the lofty status last week. Who do you think the pizza party was for?I really need to post more and get Heisman status
I think what that means is dawgstudent ate 30 pizzas las night. **That’s quite a party.
My son is playing baseball this weekend in StarkvilleThat’s quite a party.
DS, be writing that pizza party off on his taxes. Only so many flatscreens and blue tents he can write off.My son is playing baseball this weekend in Starkville
Watch out for those rowdy Oktibbeha County sheriff deputies..My son is playing baseball this weekend in Starkville
I like Dave’s thin crust stuff. Not the deep dish stuff. Boardtown is good sometimes the crust is a little too soggy for my taste. There's at least 8 different styles of pizza. I'm a NY style fan, Boardtown's is pretty good. Not a fan of Daves.
Did he give you a television?I finally achieved the lofty status last week. Who do you think the pizza party was for?
Are you kidding me? I touched the remote once and got my hand slapped with a ruler.Did he give you a television?

It's the closest thing to an authentic Italian pizza outside of Manhattan and Italy itselfI'm going to try it soon. I'm concerned that it get's so much hype its going to be a let down.
I've never been too Italy, but understand their style is nearest to Neapolitan in the US. I personally don't like the soft puffy crust, but I'm still looking forward to it.It's the closest thing to an authentic Italian pizza outside of Manhattan and Italy itself
You're on to the gist of it for sure. It's differentI've never been too Italy, but understand their style is nearest to Neapolitan in the US. I personally don't like the soft puffy crust, but I'm still looking forward to it.

Want to eat at Boardtown. The best pizza in Starkville by far was City Bagel but ripThere's at least 8 different styles of pizza. I'm a NY style fan, Boardtown's is pretty good. Not a fan of Daves.
City Bagel was great, why did it not make it?Want to eat at Boardtown. The best pizza in Starkville by far was City Bagel but rip
Once owners retired and sold out the new ownership didn’t realize how much work it would take to keep rolling. They gave it a shot and then switched gears. There is a reason bakeries are a dying genre.City Bagel was great, why did it not make it?
I went to HS with the owner of Boardtown, we've been friends since we were kids. I've told him multiple times that his pizza and Lena's are by far the two best I've ever had. He still has not been to Lena's but is actually hoping to get over there and try it in the next couple weeks.Leña Pizza in Cleveland
Yep we used to eat there every Thursday or Friday night, by far the best pizza I've ever had.Want to eat at Boardtown. The best pizza in Starkville by far was City Bagel but rip
The "new ownership" was Restaurant Tyler crew so they should be in tune to the workings of a restaurant. The manager that they put in charge of that place was the rudest, and had the most don't give a damn attitude of any restaurant manager I've ever seen. He personally ran that place into the ground.Once owners retired and sold out the new ownership didn’t realize how much work it would take to keep rolling. I know who bought it and I have nothing but respect for Chef Thames and you are correct, he knows how to run a restaurant. That said, Paul T ran that mixing bowl every day for over 20 years. He was responsible for every piece of dough that turned in to a baked good. Mary T worked her absolute *** off at every job there was for over 20 years. Joe T ran a lot of the business aspects as well as sautee stations and several uncelebrated positions fixing everything. I don’t care how big and respected a restaurant group is, you can’t just replace 3 family members who worked their finger to the bone to make a labor intensive concept work. You can train people to do a job but not care like they did. Props to them for trying to keep a neighborhood gem rolling but without Paul, Mary, & Joe the odds were stacked against them. The "new ownership" was Restaurant Tyler crew so they should be in tune to the workings of a restaurant. I was aware of him before the last time I went in there. I had just ordered from him (2 of their energy bars or loaves) which are prepared ahead of time and were stocked in the glass case by the register ready for sale. About the time I ordered someone in the food prep area hollered out and told him not to take any more orders, that they were behind. He started walking away and I said what about my order and he replied, "you heard the man, no more orders" I pointed to the Energy loaves in the counter and said there's my order sitting right there ready to go. He said "not until they tell me they're ready to go" I wasn't asking to warm it, I wasn't asking for any cream cheese on it, I just wanted 2 energy loaves and he walked away. 17 that dude
I like Daves too.A much as I am in Starkville, I still haven't eaten there. The wife is partial to Dave's when it comes to pizza, but I hear nothing but good thing about Boardtown, gonna have to make it a priority.
