I was saying he was walking around 160+ last spring/summer. I guess you're just taking a jab at Chase, but I think Chase's point was that it wasn't a hard cut from 160. It's not like he was shredded or super dense. The guy had some easy weight to get rid of when he was 160

Don't you dare try to defend Chase!!! Sure, he got fat. But dat boy was big and the cut was not easy.

Haha, it wasn’t easy!

At the same time, nobody needed to know that. I honestly didn’t realize how tough it really was. There’s not a lot of negative talk that comes out of the staff. Which I enjoy!

All good man. I told you the staff was messing with you.

Vega's discipline was impressive. He never had a dip in performance. Now tell Dee to get his head on straight.

Danny didn’t really even say much about it until the Big Xii’s.

Even then, it wasn’t alarming.

Sergio did a good job at hiding it! I mean really, who has a monster cut and is always smiling? Even in the middle of a takedown…smiling!

Also, I like always having a positive mindset.

Hype is a shitload better than hope!

Attitude is 90% of the cut. You're going to feel bad doing it no matter what. But how you let it affect you mentally is everything.

Staffs will always tell the talking heads what they want others to think. Very few get the truth
Bad and hard are two different things no? Sounds like the cut was really hard, but how bad could it be, considering Vega was a true freshman national champion who was never taken down? Not once did I watch Vega this year and think man - that looks like a kid who is struggling with the cut. Doesn't mean it wasn't really hard though.

That was this dingbat lol. I was told by someone who had knowledge or at least thought they did that it was part discipline and not just an extremely hard cut. Does that sound like something the coaches would say? I think by mid January he had probably gotten it figured out. If you watch one of the episodes of The Climb when theyre sitting in the airport eating someone jokingly said Vega finally learned how to cut weight. Was simply repeating something I was told.

In the end, undefeated Natty Champ so it doesnt matter, regardless of how hard the cut was. But guys getting up in the 160s and cutting 20 plus pounds to make 141 is a lot more common than people want to talk about. Hell I came in weighing 168 my freshman year and cut to 142 36 yrs ago and wasnt fat. No knowledge of how to diet right, no nutritionist or anything like that.

Super proud of Vega for an amazing year. I dont think anyone expected him to quite have the kind of year he had like Corby said earlier. We'll know how he stacks up at 149 most likely after NDI. My moneys on Serge!

In the latest episode of Stilly Boys, you can see Ronnie is struggling with the weight cut to 125/57. I dont know if he will be able to do it all year like Vega. Cause Ronnie really struggled.

Good to see DT keeping some of that John in the program. :ROFLMAO:

I'll never forget Ringer telling me he cut from 202 to get to 165. Absolutely unreal.
