We’ll win 4. Maybe 5.I see three wins. Two really won’t surprise me. Four, while exceeding expectations, is still unacceptable. We’re just pulling the bandaid off a little at a time.
What sec games do you see as wins ? Minnesota on the road isn’t a givenWe’ll win 4. Maybe 5.
South Carolina & Auburn look like decent bets. Minnesota possible but I doubt it. I figure we’ll win one we shouldn’t. But hey, I’m an optimist. What sec games do you see as wins ? Minnesota on the road isn’t a given
Auburn will be better Under Golesh. SC is on the road. I think between 2 and 4, so 3. Tenn Tech and La Monroe are the only sure wins. To win at Minnesota and over a sec team will be a little better year than I’d expect.South Carolina & Auburn look like decent bets. Minnesota possible but I doubt it. I’m not sold on Golesh. At all. And SC looks like a train wreck. We could easily lose both of those. But I think we have a decent chance to win both. I don’t see us beating Minnesota. That game will be much tougher than most of our fans expect. Floor is 2 wins. Ceiling is 6 (would take a near miracle to win 6). I’m sold on Golesh much more than I’m sold on lebby, they’ve got the #9 transfer class. The best players from that usf team , Byrum Brown and some 90+ OL/DL transfers. They’ll be better.I’m not sold on Golesh. At all. And SC looks like a train wreck. We could easily lose both of those. But I think we have a decent chance to win both. It's hard to see a path to 6-6 without beating both of them.I’ve never actually seen a QB significantly improve his accuracy. Significantly is the key word. But hey, if Taylor can accomplish that feat, we may go 6-6.
Have to beat either Minnesota or South Carolina for sure.
Probably a better fit for the qbWhat will make it worse is knowing that KT and fluff would be unstoppable running the Relf coast offense.
You optimists make me laugh.Well, don’t miss the first one. Or you will only see 2 of the 3 wins.
He needs more time
Tried that, doesn’t work. On to the next phase of suckage. We're going 7-5, book it.
I appreciate the optimism. Do we trust Selmon to hire a football coach?I'm honestly excited for football. We are either pleasantly surprised (win 6 or 7 games) or we are getting a new coach. Looking for a new football coach is the best time on message boards bar none.
Absolutely no doubt about that. Quick decision-making is .... um .... lacking.Probably a better fit for the qb
That's a good synopsis. If this was Leach, and I'm a Leach fan, everyone would be saying this is the year it all starts to come together. Lebby doesn't have a track record as head coach, so let's hope this really is the year it all starts to come together. He actually has a few pieces to put a 6 win season together and make a bowl. Defense and offense should be better and special teams should be the same.I’ll jump in here and give my .02 on the subject. First before goat pat, 85 and others start a rumor in which they have no clue or make shite up just cause. Let’s talk about a few things. Arnett wasn’t fired at UNLV because he went through Wendy’s nude. Some of you all would believe anything on the internet.
Im not pro Lebby or anti Lebby. I understand the situation he walked into. In the 23/24 recruiting cycle and subsequent year one. In 23 we had a G5 roster, lowest NIL in P4, and this contributed to our hiring process for HC and subsequent staff that first year. Add to this we had multiple injuries on DL in fall and lost QB early. 2-10 is never ok and losing to Toledo is never ok, but the fault lies at the feet on cohen leach emerick dudek the fans for not buying into NIL and yes even Lebby
Year two, we increased our NIL, made a few adjustments on staff, got better through portal had some early success. The lack of depth and injuries(Whitson going down)kept us from winning three games, two we lost in OT one we lost due to a botched FG call by refs in UF game
As we enter year three it’s time for the program and Lebby to make that next step. On offense, our OL will be significantly better, we will be better at QB, WR, and RB. TE is the one position that coukd take a step back from a REC end. On defense, DL will be a strength, Bledsoe, Reed, Evans , TWilliams, AWilliams, Dink, Diesel and Whitson will be very good. Add in some of the young kids we signed and we have talent and depth. LB will be solid with Lockhart, Smith, and Tillman. Secondary will be a strength with smith jones Jett, Dolby, Taylor and Gilbert
Auburn lost a lot and Golesh has a lot to rebuild, Vandy is taking a huge step back, USCE doesn’t scare me, Sellers is trending down, Minn isn’t as talented as we are, they aren’t as good as AzSt last year. I think we win all three non conference games, beat Vandy Auburn South Carolina and have chances against MIZ and OM
Clearly not a real State fan. Everyone knows we run, not pass.I'll pass, thanks.
Anybody know who the backup QB is so I can get used to calling for him?Absolutely no doubt about that. Quick decision-making is .... um .... lacking.
It's a terrible synopsis, ya'll act like this is 1997. The portal has changed everything. That's a good

You have said Lebby gutted the team multiple times but when asked name one player who left post Lebby hire that made a difference and you can’t.It's a terrible synopsis, ya'll act like this is 1997. The portal has changed everything.
Arnett gutted Leach's team, then Lenny further gutted it. Then did it again, and again this year. Leach has nothing to do with this garbage we've seen, except for the few consistent players we've had were largely his recruits.
Oh, and by the way, Leach immediately turned things around, without the portal his first year. Then had an incredibly high hit rate in 2021 and 2022.
We'll never know this because they never got a chance to develop. MSU has always been a program that developed our homegrown guys, and when we got away from that, everybody suffers due to it. A lot of kids got lost in that transition. But I know one thing, the ones we actually picked to bring in were pretty dang bad.You have said Lebby gutted the team multiple times but when asked name one player who left post Lebby hire that made a difference and you can’t.
Yes, he did. That 2020 year was akin to a 5-7 or 6-6 year similar to what Moorhead had done the year before, then elevated to 7-5 and 8-4 with some big wins. Bowl games are crapshoots with all the players out and unpredictable opponents, who cares.Second thing Leach didn’t immediately turn things around. He went 3-7(granted all SEC schedule) in 2020 6-7 in 21 in year two humiliating loss in liberty bowl and 8-4 year three 2022 .
Everybody has that, I don't count bowl games in any way shape or form when judging a season or coach, unless it's playoff games.Add to this and we had a some opt outs/portlal entries that affected us in our bowl game as well this year.
He went 4-7 in 2020 and due to COVID, we did not have spring practices to implement a new system. Those three SEC wins are two more than Low IQ Lebby has produced in two years. You have said Lebby gutted the team multiple times but when asked name one player who left post Lebby hire that made a difference and you can’t.

That goes incredibly understated around here. No telling what our record would have really been, because we actually had a few impact transfers there. The LSU game really showed what could have been but I just don't think we had enough practice to figure anything else out with Costello and the newcomers. With COVID and everything, anybody who could be a troublemaker ended up being one and we ultimately had to go with the freshmen. He went 4-7 in 2020 and due to COVID, we did not have spring practices to implement a new system.
We got bones by officials this yearHe went 4-7 in 2020 and due to COVID, we did not have spring practices to implement a new system. Those three SEC wins are two more than Low IQ Lebby

He went 7-6 (4-4) in 2021 with us getting boned by the SEC refs against Memphis.
News flash… those players didn’t develop anywhere. Most went to lower level and couldn’t cut it there. So stop using the argument he gutted the program. Some kids left on there own some were told they were not neededWe'll never know this because they never got a chance to develop. I also think the implementation was slightly quicker because Moorhead had already been transitioning the OL to a more pass-happy scheme. That's about the only thing I'll give him credit for, even though it totally 17ed us in 2018.
To me, Moorhead didn’t 17 us and was way better than Lebby. I know they inherited different situations but still. 14-12, 2 egg bowl wins, 2 bowl games—but he sucked? Lebby is 7-18, 1-15 in conference. He’s 17ing us way harder than MoorheadI also think the implementation was slightly quicker because Moorhead had already been transitioning the OL to a more pass-happy scheme. Leach was no nonsense, any bad attitudes/ bad apples were told to hit the road in 2020, jomo had no discipline. That culture was pretty easily seen during 2022. Team had toughness, watch the egg bowl, they literally physically beat the piss out of ole Miss from the get go, and if not for Will Rogers miscues trying to run the ball would have been a blow out. That goes incredibly understated around here.
