Forgive me if this has already been asked and answered--are we the visitors today? That ish happened to us last year in the Supers. Dumbest rule in the book.
If Boaz doesn’t start idk how you expect him to pitch at all then. That’s just my opinion of course. My assumption to this point was that Boaz would start, with Glauber expecting to get meaningful innings. Glauber has earned the right to be the starter, given multiple games where he has come in to pitch 5-6 innings for a starter that couldn’t get very deep into a game. Is he the right choice? Don’t know, but looking forward to watching him take his shot. If you assume that we should be able to get an average of 2 and a third innings from Glauber, Boaz, McDuffie, and Rose, then we want need anyone else. If we need more arms Matthijs, Chewy, Padgett, Seagraves and possilly Lynch should be available, and all except Lynch well rested. With that many arms available, everyone should be on a short leash if things start going south. My biggest concern for the day is getting timely hits, and relief pitchers being ready to get outs when they come in with runners on base.
We are not.Forgive me if this has already been asked and answered--are we the visitors today? That ish happened to us last year in the Supers. Dumbest rule in the book.
There aren’t many things at all similar about McDuffie other than they both use a slider… the shape, the angles, the velo… it’s all so differentReally hope the slider is enticing and gets some swing and miss. If they spit on it, pitch count could get up pretty quickly. I’m also a little nervous at how well they approached McDuffie. I know the pitch mixes aren’t identical, but they are pretty similar.
Understood. The slider is the pitch I hope Glauber has more success with than McDuffie did. I do know that Glauber’s fastball plays a lot better, even in fastball counts. There aren’t many things at all similar about McDuffie other than they both use a slider… the shape, the angles, the velo… it’s all so different
Globes fastball is elite when it’s in the zoneUnderstood. The slider is the pitch I hope Glauber has more success with than McDuffie did. I do know that Glauber’s fastball plays a lot better, even in fastball counts.
Agreed, it also doesn’t hurt that we’ve seen him already. With Andrew Johnson…he was pretty effective against us on Friday. But I just feel some of those ABs were in a shell-shocked state after the grand slam. I hope we are more locked in against him today. We’ve faired well against RHP this season.
With youAnd a large amount of folks on this board have been hollering for Globe to be the Sunday starter for weeks now......
Freely admit I figured they'd go Boaz/Globe etc, but Forbes said yesterday - matchups matter and they clearly see something that says Glauber matches up better with the USC line up.
Still have to play the game and so does USC......All hands on deck today save for 'maybe' DeCaro - lol - and let it play out.
That and he’s thrown 185 pitches in the 8 days priorAgreed, it also doesn’t hurt that we’ve seen him already.
G O O DYeah. Don’t understand this one.
Nothing happened last year, As per NCAA rules, we were the home team for game 3.Forgive me if this has already been asked and answered--are we the visitors today? That ish happened to us last year in the Supers. Dumbest rule in the book.
Right down the road in Emerald Isle. I’ll be streaming from right by the water.Cheering on from Indian Beach!
We saw what happened with Norbys stuff last weekend… not saying that will happen today. But arms aren’t robotic. That and he’s thrown 185 pitches in the 8 days prior
When you look at their road and quality opponent splits they are way less daunting. They play in a VERY defense ballpark at homeMan, their staff has a lot of good “on paper” numbers… of course, they’re probably saying the same thing about us…
You could say the same about their starter (who already threw 30+ on Friday) and they have even less bullets left to throw from their bullpen after himReally hope the slider is enticing and gets some swing and miss. If they spit on it, pitch count could get up pretty quickly. I’m also a little nervous at how well they approached McDuffie. I know the pitch mixes aren’t identical, but they are pretty similar.
1.) We’ve seen him already 2.) Trajekt the F**** out of him this morningWith Andrew Johnson…he was pretty effective against us on Friday. But I just feel some of those ABs were in a shell-shocked state after the grand slam. I hope we are more locked in against him today. We’ve faired well against RHP this season.
You throw your best arm available. USC is doing the sameStartingis going to either be a genius move by Forbes or blow up in our face. That’s how it goes when Omaha is on the line…LETS GO HEELS!
I’m with you….whatever Trajekt means…1.) We’ve seen him already 2.) Trajekt the F**** out of him this morning
Learned about this the other day. I think it’s some kind of software where you can take BP and simulate a specific pitcher.I’m with you….whatever Trajekt means…
