While I certainly respect people’s desire for privacy it is only when one provides no info that the speculation turns rampant for public figures. He provided info about the first two surgeries himself on the show. Perhaps it’s my medical background but I’ve never tried to hide any illness or surgery from friends or strangers. Perhaps an STD might have sealed my lips if that occurred. An illness is never a reason to be embarrassed or ashamed. Seek help early if something is wrong and keep up with the screening tests/procedures.
I know but no one knows what this one is but the guy above acted like he knew and made it sound dire. It could just be a follow up of sorts. I know people that have had prostate cancer and had it removed.

That stuff is unbelievable! I had a surgery and the anesthesiologists cocktail as he called it was fentanyl and ketamine. Needless to say, I was out like a light!
Whatever they gave me, I’m still fugged up lol. Luckily they told/made me have a driver to take me home. I still don’t remember any of it.

Watching him walk in at the remote ksr golf tournament was awful. Very very slow and you could see he was in pain
Damn. That’s awful to hear. It was cool he got that big round of applause from the show the other day. That had to make him feel better.

Man. I’m not even that age yet but it but it makes me wonder.
You should get a yearly physical no matter your age. It’s free and the peace of mind is priceless. A simple blood draw shows your PSA level as well as a ton of other levels such as Lymph Nodes, sodium levels, vitamin B levels, etc. it shows a ton of different levels and it shows the range you should be at and what levels you are at. It’s all put online in a portal and you can make adjustments to diet as needed. For your PSA, you want to watch it as it’s a problem if it goes higher each year. Is worth doing just to see your PSA levels. Pay the small extra cost and have them do a fecal occult test to check for blood in the stool, a sign of colon cancer and at 35 or 45, do the Gold Star Colonoscopy.

What exactly is a PSA? I do try to get a yearly physical. Speaking of which, I’m over due for that. Thanks for the info bud. Stuff like this is scary as hell to me.

PSA test is also known as tne Gold Standard for early prostate detection. A physical os worthless without a simple blood test. A rubber hammer againt the knee doesn’t show much!

PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) levels measure the concentration of a protein produced by the prostate gland in the blood, expressed in nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL).
  • 0 to 4.0 ng/mL: Generally considered a normal, baseline range for most men.
  • 4.1 to 10.0 ng/mL: Minimally to moderately elevated; this indicates about a 25% chance of prostate cancer.
  • Above 10.0 ng/mL: Highly elevated; this indicates a 50% or higher chance that prostate cancer is present. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Thanks man. Appreciate the info bud. I hate needles but get blood work done as much as I can. Ughh. I just hate it all man.

I am 39 and it terrifies me. I think they say you should start checking at like 45? You would recommend sooner? For the colon stuff

If you read my post carefully you will see that I stated he provided the info on the first two surgeries. He may or may not be a “loser” but he is a public figure in the UK media world and many are interested. Many people don’t agree with your characterization of him. Personally I have never met him and know little about him but I bet he is lot like most of us, a mixture of good and bad.

Ahh god. Don’t tell me that lol. And 100 about not looking at the needles. I had surgery Thursday and luckily had multiple nurses, cute as hell I might add, and they were being nice and trying to distract me when they put my IV in.

Yeah. No. You all are all good. I should have read more before replying. It’s just a ****** situation. I guess literally. Hate it for him or anyone to have to go through it.

and I wasn’t calling Ryan a loser. I actually like him a lot and have heard nothing but good things about him.

I should read and pay more attention to posts. Lack of it has gotten me in all kinds of trouble lol.

Agreed. I could see an STD for sure, but anything else is not reason to be ashamed.

Hope you’re doing well man! Yep, same here! I honestly don’t remember a couple of weeks after. But I know one thing, my mental health was good to go for that amount of time, kinda like it rewired/reset my brain.

Get your physical people. Especially you blue collar folk, work can wait, take off and get it done before it’s too late.

One of my friends died of prostate cancer. He was a great carpenter but never did the doctor thing. Probably a combo of it being too hard to find a doctor and not wanting to miss a day of work. When he started showing signs that things were wrong, it was pretty much too late.

As with anybody fighting cancer, I wish him well. It’s such a horrible part of life for many people.

This state has the number one cancer rates in the entire country. We need to get our **** together and get it figured out.

PSA test is also tainted by false positives. Sexual activity within 48!hrs elevates it for instance. Also a large prostate can do it.

trust me I know. My PSA has always been elevated
So how do you know it your elevated PSA is benign? What other tests did they do?

By "elevated " I mean it's slightly in the abnormal zone. Like 4.1 or 4.2. I do a retest and it's 3.4 or 3.5.

in fairness I do the "gotta use the whole fist, doc?" Test every few years. Will likely start doing it yearly.

Just my 2 cents but people are foolish if they don’t get a PSA test, yearly, and reckless if they steer others away from them. . Its not the end all be all but anybody thats smart will get one.
