I have copied and pasted your post over on ED. I think there's a guy over there who cares. All I had to do was check a box.

You know my feelings on college baseball. I watch when we are winning, it’s not the end of the world when we don’t. It’s not like football or even men’s basketball.
I'll check back in with you after Ole Miss wins their 2nd MCWS.

it’s just college baseball

Did you grow up a Bulldog, or are you from out of state and ended up at MSU because of a scholarship and/or a program that interested you?

I ask because it's surprising to see someone with with a lifelong connection to MSU be so indifferent toward baseball.

2nd generation, still live in the area, passed it on to the next one. There are three generations of us now. College baseball is not a major sport. It just isn’t, no matter how much we would like it to be. Baseball is a pro based sport, always has been, always will be. Most MSU people are like me, if we are winning at baseball that’s wonderful and we will keep up with it. If we are losing…ok. Baseball is for the college baseball fans. I hate to tell you, you, but there really ain’t that many of them, not even at MSU.

I disagree! Sure there are not as many MSU baseball fans as there are football fans. Just like there are not as many MSU basketball fans as football. But to say there just not that many is not correct. If not that many fans? Then why do we have more in attendance for a SEC weekend than a lot of pro/MLB teams! Also why is there is a waiting list a mile long for chairback seats and waiting list for spots in the outfield. Answer that?

Also tell me baseball is not important at LSU, Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Troy, Louisiana Lafayette, USM. If you want to continue to spew this lie that college baseball is just a club sport then back it up with facts.

Sorry to go off but I am so sick of these people saying college baseball is not that big of deal and it is not important at other schools. That it is just not true or factual. I talked to a players parent the other day and they were saying how big a business it is. All the way from early travel ball to the Minor Leagues. This player’s parent doesn’t live in Ms. where often we are not aware what goes on in other states.

Not likely, and it won’t change a thing for me If it happens, it’s just college baseball. It’s not like it’s a major sport. Now had they won it in football last year…….
Well last year they pretty much played for it.... playing two NYE games in one year..... and oh they had a rematch with UGA in one of those games..... AND WON!

I couldn't imagine. ...and will probably make the playoffs again this year.

Growing up in NY, no college sport was a major sport. If it wasn't for my ties to MSU I would still feel the same way. It's all relative and I am not sure why people get such a charge out of making that declaration. I am sure there are plenty of sports that would love to get the following and amount of coverage on TV as MSU Baseball.

What does it matter if it's a "major" sport or not? What does it matter if it's a college based sport or not?

Isn't the point that it's for entertainment and having fun?

Why are State fans that seem to be so against giving a damn about MSU baseball so worried about what others (non-MSU fans, specifically) think?

So if you don’t care about baseball, why are you on here trying to annoy the people that do enjoy it. Just go away until this is over. Total lack of respect for what you say are your fellow bulldogs.
