The New York Legislature has approved (subject to governor's approval) a bill substituting "non-gestating parent" for father and "gestating parent" for mother in family law, continuing the home invasion of the Left. All traditional family relations are being assaulted to bend to the knee of Leftist ideology. I was at a large city high school in Ohio attending an event where computer equipment was being donated to students in need and I was informed that they were not allowed to use the terms "boys" and "girls". There could be a small paragraph or two saying that where non-biological parentage is legitimately involved certain people have the same rights as mothers and fathers. Instead New York wants to shred the whole family structure and culture that has generally served Western Civilization very well.
