I have, but he actually did well last weekend. Start Boaz, but literally have Caden in the bullpen before first pitch. I just remember him doing really poorly during his only start against dook, and USC isn’t dook. If we start Caden and he doesn’t do well, then what? I know it’s all hands on deck minus Jason, but it just seems risky to me. That all being said, I trust Forbes.

Boaz was good against GT and ECU the first time through. Maybe use him like an opener, as we have the luxury of Duff, Globe and Rose rested.
How does it not make sense? His ERA is above 7maybe, just me ... but your logic completely escapes me

I thought he threw about as well as he could have last week and still gave up 5 hits in 3 innings and got bailed out by McDuffie. If he goes out there and gives up 3 or 4 runs in the first 2 innings and you end up losing then Forbes will catch a lot of heat.

It blows my mind that people are really trying to act like starting Boaz in this game tomorrow is the right move. He has the worst ERA on the WHOLE TEAM. And we just saw what he did in the ACC Championship. Not saying he couldn’t go out and shove but the past and everything we have seen all year has shown that is unlikely. Idk
He has the experience. Yes, he hasn’t been great, but he was good last weekend. Start him but have Caden ready quickly. If Caden starts and doesn’t do well, then what do we do? Starting a freshman in an elimination game is a ton of pressure.
I look at it as if Glauber doesn’t throw well then we weren’t going to win anyways. Glauber is going to have to throw regardless. I would rather ride my stud from the start than having him come in while being down 3 or 4 and then he’s just trying to pitch to avoid a blowout. I’ve always had the mentality of riding your studs in big spots. Especially him. He has elite stuff and I think he has the mentality to handle it.
I’ve thought on it a lot. I would start Boaz and I think Forbes will too. If he can go one time through the lineup and get 6-9 outs, anything after that is pure gravy and comes with a short leash. Get Glauber in there in the 3rd or 4th inning and if he’s on…..
This is right. Boaz is the opener. If he can get us 2+, then it’s some combination of Globe, McDuffie, Rose, and Matty to finish it out. Boaz has to be on a short leash. And the bats have to show up.

USC's pitching staff has been even better than ours this season. And I wouldn't expect our staff to give up 10 either.

Personally, I would start McDuffie and go with him as long as he’s doing the job. Once he no longer can, I’ll bring in globe and let him finish the game. Hopefully you get at least two maybe three innings from McDuffie.

If Boaz had not looked good last time out, I’d go Globe, but given that Folger did look pretty good, I think you start him and turn to Globe at the first sign of any issue.
Or you start the guy who has 27 starts instead of the guy who has 2. The leash can be short, but you don’t change who you are at this point in the season

How many lefties does USC have in the lineup? Folger seems to struggle most against left heavy lineups.

Completely agree. If Boaz can get us once through the rotation with essentially no damage, we're on house money with him. He'd probably be over 50 pitches by that point. Boaz likely would get a second time through opportunity, but with short leash...something like two on and one out.
