That's okay, he'll have something to say about this past March should we meet in the NCAA Tournament.

Iowa State fans are just coping. A kid left strictly because Iowa State couldn’t afford his market rate. Of course fans will dismiss him.

I will always be convinced that the charade of the NBA draft pursuit was to try to distract from the fact Milan was always going to transfer for 5 plus million dollars that ISU couldn’t afford. He was a star there and a fan favorite. He wanted to respect that and gently exit imo unlike a guy like Flory for instance.

The reality is they are saying exactly what those of us who have been trying to caution all you wild eyed naive fans about. Milan isn't going to take us to a Final Four. He wasnt the focal point of Iowa State's offense for a reason. He is a role player. Some of you are just setting yourselves up for heartbreak the same way you did last offseason. Frankly, its tiresome.

He’s literally elite in every offensive category except one per Synergy. 17ppg in the Big 12 on a top 10 team oughtta be enough to not be a role player. You’re overplaying your hand.

By our fanbase? lol. We appreciate them until they play the games. Wait till he goes 4-13 one game and he’ll be the worst player on earth.
I knew someone would say that and I agree 100%. I am just really hoping that the boobirds will be few and far between this coming season. The past several years have been brutal.

I think people are underestimating how much he has improved since his freshman year as well. He's shown improvement every single year so he's not a finished product.

We will just agree to disagree on that. I know where you stand on it and I respect your opinion but I don’t agree.
It's funny. A lot of our fans want to hold us to a standard of winning more than anyone else because we are "better." But when it comes to trashing our players they are very quick to point out how we are just like everyone else.

The thing that gets me is the fans who say they want X or Y player and think Kentucky should just be able to get them. However, we have fan behavior that is a little different than any other school and it means you usually have a certain type of player who’s going to be open to that. In short, we limit our available pool of options in this way. Cal was able to overcome a lot of that by being the best recruiter in the modern era and even he acknowledged ā€œthis place isn’t for everyone.ā€ Well, if we are just the best fans in every way and we are the biggest brand, why isn’t it for everyone who is good enough? Because not everyone can handle the unprofessional media circus that can’t decide whether they are fans or reporters and the fans who think their team needs them to provide criticisms three times as much as they cheer. My post sure the hell ain’t changing any of that, but being honest about things is the only way I want to be.

I live in Columbus and feel very confident saying Ohio State fans are just as crazy.

Football..yes

Basketball.. no

There are football fanbases that compare. No dispute there. Football is many times more popular than basketball.

Right, but Ohio State has no issues recruiting and attracting players to play for them in football. I could be misinterpreting your point, but it sounds like you are saying this fan ā€œcrazinessā€ is a negative to attracting most players, but I’m around Ohio State fans and they are completely nuts and Ohio State has no issues getting players. It’s because they offer good money, good exposure, and are a major football school with a good history and their coach is a really good recruiter. I disagree that fan craziness is a turn off. Otherwise lots of major school would have issues recruiting as lots of the good schools have crazy fans.

Learn the game of basketball or stop posting here. UK fans know ball and don’t have any time for non ball knowers. Thanks.

Not the same comparison. College football is a totally different thing.

And yes, I believe Cal wasn’t making it up when he said ā€œthis place isn’t for everyone.ā€ I don’t believe he was wrong when he begged fans not to be a reason why players don’t come here (said it pretty plainly in a press conference one year.) I think there’s a reason why Delk said the best place to play as a Kentucky player is Rupp and the hardest to play as a Kentucky player is Rupp (paraphrasing that one, have to find the exact quote.) There are reasons players like TyTy feels the fans don’t care about them and treat them as disposable. There are many players’ parents who try to get fans to keep criticisms in bounds like Kam Williams’s father who regularly talks about this on Loyal BBN Fan Show (Gregg Williams, he’s on there usually once or twice a month.) You have players like Collin Chandler and Jaxson Robinson who chose a less direct approach with the fan behavior in their post games. Yes, I believe it all matters. Wanna be the best? We, the fans, are part of that package that every player considers now…is what it is to me.

No different than fans of schools like Duke,Kansas,North Carolina and other big name schools....

Right. Should have seen some of the stuff Duke fans had to say about Cayden Boozer after the E8 game. Oof. But you don’t see anyone saying hes dumb for going back to play for an u grateful, unrealistic fan base. Seems like that flawed narrative is reserved for UK fans.

By that definition, every starter plays a role and is a role player. LOL

I dont agree he is a role player.

I do agree he probably just gets UK to a sweet 16.

Look, our fans are dreamers. This is nothing new. They forget Pope wont have the team prepared at tipoff and that other rosters are better than ours. If we lose by 7 in the sweet 16 Pope and the Popettes will say progress and believe it.
