Umm yes they did. If you can read then scroll up. And no a Sweet 16 is not acceptable after the past two years we’ve had under the new coach. Fans like you have morphed us into Indiana.
Fans like me?!?! The Pope fans all hate me, and now you're on my *** for making 1 semi-positive post.

Lol ok.

The faster the season gets here the faster we can hire a real coach. Excited as ever knowing this is make or break for Pope. So other way he succeeds or the next man gets a chance.

We will never be a hot commodity as long as Pope is coach. Call me a troll and terrible person all you want for stating the obvious. Nobody has to be farting rainbows all day just because Kentucky is their team. Some people actually are disgusted with the state of the program and have a right to be just like many have a right to fart rainbow dust about being 9th seeds in the SEC tournament.
Yeah. I think we should hire Hurley as head coach and Dusty May as an assistant. That way we will be set when Hurley retires. You on board for that Juice?

If they have 1 game next season where the effort looks in any way remotely similar to the Gonzaga, Michigan State, Louisville, Florida, Georgia, Texas A & M, Vanderbilt or Iowa State blowouts, I would be excited to talk about the coaching search.

He is not meeting our historical standards
SEC, SECT, rivalry games, NCAAT, or recruiting

I'm looking forward to Pope showing us what he can do with no injuries or excuses. Let's see it. Is he the coach that beat all those ranked teams his first season? Or the one from last year that got blasted off the court by half of the schedule?

I’m not sure if I can say the amount of losses, or how far we make the tournament is my measuring stick for the season. I’m more wanting to see improvements during the season and games, (after halftime)! I want to see them playing their absolute hardest while they’re on the floor, diving for loose balls and just giving it all. I want to see them laughing and having fun, playing together and looking for each other when they get open. I want to see the bench going crazy and looking like they would die to be in the game, but also cheering for the guys on the floor. I want to see us rebound like Oscar did, just giving effort and it will happen. Defensively, same, give everything you have, every play and until you can’t give anymore. If I had to put a number on what I’d like us to be, I’d say 27-10 or something like that give or take. The Elite Eight would certainly be considered an improvement, but the tournament is just hard to advance with so many matchups that could go either way. As long as they look like they love playing the game, look like they’re giving everything they have and having fun, it’s a success in my book.
Have some UK pride man. Having fun is not the standard. Loving the game is not the standard. Being ranked in top 10 all year, legit competing SEC title, legit final 4 (not that it will happen every year), those are some of the standards.

This board is pretty stupid. Most on here correctly read that Pope isn't the right guy based on results, then we sign one guy, and everyone acts like everything is good again. No it is not!

I definitely don’t think everything is all good! And yes it’s sucks not being able to think we’re going to the final four, or having the confidence to think we’re gonna win 30 plus games. I know this isn’t Kentuckys standard but what is anyone supposed to do? Lie about it! It is what it is. We
Don’t have the dominant team, am I supposed to pretend everything is just great? I have as much pride as I need man! I know this isn’t what we should be, I can’t change it by crying can I? Pope is the coach this year, deal with it and watch or don’t, but I will be a fan like I want to and you fan like you want to.

I have to add, I want to win every single game we play and hate losing with a passion. My post earlier is how I’d love to see us play, I also want them to win while having fun. It’s not one or the other. Anyway. Appreciate the reply.

Exaggerate much? How do you win well over half your games of your games and get "blasted" by half of the schedule.

Pope has lost 7 home games in only 2 seasons. This may be asking a bit much of him.

This is dumb. So if he wins 28+ games and loses in the Elite Eight you want him fired?
Dumb? lol.

Dumb are people that are unable or unwilling to admit that the program has underperformed under Pope. Despite a huge NIL budget, we haven't been an aggregated top 20 team program under Pope. That's right: we spend like a top 5 team and play like an outside top 20 team. Dumb are people who think that a guy who has never succeeded at a high level will somehow at this point in his life turn things around. Dumb are people who think a guy who cannot connect with recruits and who has hardly produced a pro will somehow reel in top recruits. Dumb are people that can't see our slow descent mediocrity. Frankly, the only people who should want patience with Pope are outside fan trolls. They would love to keep the Pope regime going with another rd of 32 or sweet 16 bow out. Not me.

The reality is that Pope shouldn't have been given a year 3 given his many blunders. But to have any chance at retention, he needed to blow it out of the water this year to prove the critics wrong. Talking a top 5 team all season, #1 seed type team with realistic final 4 expectations. Not a team that finishes 6 in the SEC, gets a 4-7 seed, and wins a few games in the tournament. He's already shown us that. We need a superstar. 90's Pitino. Early Cal. Get the right guy and it will click. But it ain't Mark. I can already see the goalposts moving - people are adjusting to Pope results and viewing a better team than last year as a success and reason to retain. UH, NO!!!

Not irrelevant if we are Tennessee...we are irrelevant by our own Kentucky standard. But I understand there's a ton of people like yourself that don't uphold that standard. Clap for Poop one more time. 9th seeds baby
I agree that Kentucky has not been successful and we're near Kentucky standard should be for the past six years or so, but we are probably the most relevant team in the nation because we draw the biggest TV audiences. We are constantly in the discussion about how we are doing and all the national media.. many are watching us to see if we truly fail. Mine are watching us to see if we come back.. no one talks about Indiana anymore. Everyone still talks about Kentucky and that my friend is relevance.

My predictions are will beat Tennessee at least once we will definitely be at Arkansas and vandy. I didn't look at the stats to verify this, but if we were just decently hitting our threes in good chances of meeting in Florida last year. What's the Tennessee and Florida and Alabama are the games that concern me and to not give away games to the lower right teams

When was the last time we been a “legit” contender according to you? Cause I think we’re pretty legit rn
17th favorite according to Vegas. That's not what I consider a contender. Hell we're not contenders for the SEC unless you're looking through blue tinted goggles. 4th-9th type SEC team. My expectations haven't changed, been the same my whole life.

My expectations going into a year are

1) Win the SEC regular season
2) Win the SEC tournament
3) Make the elite eight

Don't need them all. Do need one of those three things for it to be a successful season. I don't expect any of those next year.

Vegas is stupid. Evan Miya is a better source and has us like top 12.

also you didn’t answer my question? What team in like the last 8 years has “ legit contender “ written on them

First off, I wouldn’t take what that guy says to heart. He’s one of those “tell it like it is” types that are reckless in what they say and think that merits respect.

From what I’m hearing he’s UL bound.

Here was his personal “inside” information on Milan where he put in a “crystal ball” for the Cards, before going on a tear about how Momcilovic isn’t worth his value. Wasn’t his money but he had a real problem with it. That type of guy. I’d really take him with a grain of salt.

As for you, I always enjoyed your posts. Thought you were one of the rare types that would call it pretty fair regardless of what the board thought about things. When Pope got Momcilovic though, it was like a switch flipped and you lost all sense of perspective and nuance. You starting going extremely anti-Pope. I know you aren’t much of a fan of him to start with, but you used to draw some pretty fair lines in the sand on these topics and you seemed to pivot to a far more abrasive style.

And so, yeah, I like hearing the nuance again. There are plenty of hammers on the board. It’s nice when you have a few who try to make it a point to be precise. That’s my thoughts.

Ultimately, none of our opinions about your posting matters ultimately very much. This is just an obscure hangout for us crazies anyway.

Most teams would laugh at the fact we are even trying to fire a coach after 2 seasons. Louisville did it with Kenny Payne but he was 12-52. North Carolina after 5 but he made it to the championship game. He did retain more than just a player from the roster prior though. We did it with Billy G but he was a drunk, and it was for off court issues. The SEC, and our off season schedule last 2 years have been more rough than years prior. Also Pope didn't do good managing roster by adding injured players (JQ), and also injuries occurred during season. He also lost the only reliable point guard to transfer Acaden Lewis, maybe he thought Aberdeen, and Jasper would suffice but they didn't.

First year he did a good job throwing the roster together and making it to the sweet 16, with an injured Robinson and Butler. Plus people bring up he has never done that well with a team. BYU like us in 2019-2020 had a chance to make some noise in the tournament they were 24-8 before Covid-19 cancelled it all. Guys like Dan Hurley had prior success in small leagues but his first 4 years at UCONN only made it to the Round of 64. Guys like Todd Golden who is a good young up and comer won it in his 3rd year and really had no success either. Other blue bloods have had the same coach for a while aka Kansas and Duke still has K lurking in the shadows.

This year if Pope does bad we will get another coach. Most coaches take a while though before they are successful. Plus I believe injuries will be minimum this year, so hopefully we will see the results. We have had the most blow outs in a while but also played the strongest schedule and last couple years we came out with some of the biggest wins against top opponents. Hopefully we can add Jamal Crawford, along with Mo Williams I believe it'll help with freshmen recruiting woes. What has hurt Pope first year we got who we got, 2nd year we were more focused on transfer portal, and 3rd year pre it hurt us because we had one of our freshmen recruiting against us(Jasper).

You really are a fool. You should go back to football stuff. Not that you knew anything more about that sport, come to think of it.
You are defining games that we actually won as having gotten blasted and you are calling me a fool? All you are doing is continuing to dig a deeper hole after I easily and 100% factually pointed out that you were way off and seriously exaggerating.
