Playing devils advocate here. How does booting donors payoff? “Well hey Mr and Mrs Tar Heel thank you for your hundreds of thousands of dollars but because your grandkid had a christening and you sold your Sunday regional ticket we will no longer allow you to keep the season tickets you’ve had for 20 years and no post season for supers or next year either. So your grandkids will miss UNC baseball and you’ll still have to give to keep your place in line for two years from now. Sorry for the inconvenience and if you don’t mind don’t tell any of your other donor friends and would you mind chipping in a bit for the track and field training facility while I have you on the call?”…even the Rams Club is not that dumb.
No donor who has given hundreds of thousands of dollars is wasting their time making a few hundred dollars on stubhub. This is why I’m going to the game Saturday for free.

If you read my post, the donors being kicked are scalping all of their tickets to the entire season online. And nobody is soliciting further donations from them, they’re disassociated from Tide Pride. But that’s a cute christening story.

Then who is the problem in your mind? So you’re going to the game for free after not buying season tickets and not bothering to donate enough to Rams Club over the years to gain access and yet you still want to lecture UNC on how they should run their relations with donors and season ticket holders just because you don’t benefit from it? Get real…

Who remembers a couple years ago, the guy who said he was selling his post season tickets to do a kitchen or bathroom remodel and needed the money?

Waaaaa it’s hot. Waaaaaa I didn’t get the seats I wanted. Waaaaa. Lots of crybabies around here. I was there in 109 with my 82 year old mom in the heat (still not as hot as Cary). Quit your crying and get your butts in the seats and bring your loudest voices. Today’s environment was nowhere near the ferocity I have previously experienced and expect in a Super.

Actually, I thought the crowd support was very good until the joint Walker / Matt pitching meltdown. If we had capitalized on loading the bases with no outs in the 1st, the noise would have been through the roof.

I wish they would better weigh baseball support (Diamond Heels Club, history of season tix and postseason purchases, Bosh renovation contributions, etc). They seem to have ended up giving out a whole bunch of tickets to RC members who flood the resale market because they have no intention of going to the game and supporting the Heels.

I am top 2200 RC, 25 year Diamond Heels member, 20 year season ticket holder, etc and got zero extras. I paid $30 for good seats today and have come to the conclusion that if they continue to just allow the highest level RC members (like top 1000) to just buy and resell at their whim, the rest of us (who can’t go to every game) are better off saving the hundreds of dollars we spend on Diamond Heels Club and season tickets and just SeatGeek the 20 or so games (and postseason) we go to. It’s bad for the program, but that’s the incentive they’re creating by shutting out the most program-loyal fans from the postseason ticket scramble.

THIS!!!

BE AT THE BOSH TODAY AND BE LOUD. If you can’t be there and in your seat or have a medical condition to avoid the heat, completely understandable. Find a TAR HEEL to be in those seats. Plenty of people wanted to take their kids yesterday. I promise you can find someone to be there & be loud.

the boys need us

You got your season ticket spots though, right?

I'm even more convinced that the tickets that show up early on Seat Geek are ones we give to Seat Geek as part of the contract we have with them, The same tickets always show up early, and before tickets are available in the accounts for season ticket holders and Rams Club members. The prices are always over-inflated, encouraging our fans to similarly price their tickets. After all, Seat Geek rakes in bigger fees as the prices rise, assuming the tickets sell at those prices.

My understanding is you’re exactly correct in this take. Per the agreement, they effectively “own” certain seats to sell on there. Same in basketball and football. I remember a Tennessee fan who documented how many football seats they owned of theirs and it was a ton.

There were 95 listings yesterday for today’s game. Still 55 as of right now at 12:30. Regardless of whether the price is $70 or still $300, there is not a reason for that many people to be buying tickets and selling the Saturday game that’s good for UNC baseball.
