He was old and he had old guy issues. But he was still in 23-24 fully capable per the policy schtick per the Presidency and making capable decisions. I'm always referencing the press conference he held after the disastrous debate where he was lucid and provided a tour de force per foreign policy (see link below).

The stimulus bill might have been an overreach but there was almost a concensus among economists that the US was headed to a recession coming out of covid....that stim bill helped avoid that and Joe managed to land the plane without a damaging recession.

Democrats lost the election precisely because Biden could not bring down inflation in a timely manner.
Inflation was the #1 issue in the election, and Trump won in a landslide. Every single swing state and “against all odds” the popular vote.
Inflation is much better under Trump than the Democrat run admin. Inflation reached 9% under democrats and we haven’t even seen half that under Trump admin.

If you believe Biden didn’t suck fine. We disagree. But saying Biden sucked does not mean I think he was equivalent to Trump. He was WAY better and I would take him in a heartbeat right now.

I blame republicans mostly for Trump. They deserve the lion’s share of scorn. But there is a healthy scoop of Blame on Biden too. He chose to be a public figure for most of his life, well then he should take the heat for his decisions.
His record will forever be tarnished by two things: (1) he saw how Trump acted in his first term and did nothing to curb the excesses of the executive branch and (2) his decision to run again. He will not go down in history as a good president for those reasons. He was a dunce for those decisions.
Also saying he looked “old and tired” is whitewashing the sh*tshow of his last year+ in office. He was very diminished in capacity, but thankfully had a mostly decent team around him. We should all be aghast at the capabilities he exhibited over that time. It was 1988 Reaganesque.
Anyway, that is where the evidence of his performance in his term leads me. I stand by it and am baffled by why all the team blue folks would rush to defend the old man and attack me for a position that is pretty middle of the road. Call a spade a spade, learn from it and put forward a viable candidate in 2028.
