Looks like it's starting at $135/share. This will inevitably make Elon Musk the world's first trillionaire. Is this a "wait and see" or a "buy it now" opportunity.

Do not buy it at $135. This IPO has the classic pre hype mania that gives investors buyers remorse. The company could take over a decade to realize revenue streams that make a 1 trillion dollar market cap reasonable.

"It's a project that requires some unproven engineering to succeed, but we do see SpaceX as the best positioned to pursue it," Owens and Sharma wrote.

Also be mindful that xAI merged with SpaceX back in February, and one of the reasons was because xAI has $500 million in revenue but a 12 billion dollar per year cash burn rate .

''The financial gap between the two halves is stark. SpaceX is profitable, driven largely by Starlink; reporting put its 2025 revenue around $15 billion with profit possibly as high as $8 billion. xAI is the opposite, with standalone AI revenue near $500 million against an annualized cash burn estimated above $12 billion. The merger does not erase that imbalance — it places xAI’s losses next to Starlink’s income on one balance sheet.''

I'm guessing it'll start out well the first few days then cool down considerably. The space/rocket side of the business doesn't excite me. The A/I side of the business is where the growth is at, IMO. It's something to keep an eye on.

Every single legit investment advisor that i see on tv says to wait a couple weeks for it to settle down before buying. Every single novice investment advisor that i see on YouTube says the same thing. Every other swinging dick that I’ve heard mention it says the same thing. I guess there a few that won’t get the message and will buy on day 1.

My company I work for has a LLP with Space X. It was worth 83 million a few years ago. I bought in for 23 million. They sold the original 23 million to a new partner. They still own the rest

You'll very likely get an opportunity to buy it for less than it's open sometime in the next year (or week).

It's one of those I'd buy a little of to have a reason to watch it closely and then add to a holding on dips if you decide it's worth a very long term hold.

I could see them getting a lot of hype for the foreseeable future that will probably keep the stock trading at absurd valuations. Long term, I don’t see a future for them. I think there’s better investments out there. No company/organization has ever built a sustainable business on “space”… maybe they’ll be the first?

I think at best Starlink could replace At&t. At&t has a market cap of $175B. The valuations here are insane.

Why is tesla valued so much?
I expect SpaceX to be similar.

It'll be a bunch of "well it is worth this despite not matching the traditional valuation of a company(whether goods or services)."
...and continue to not have valid reason.

My take is this - if you can get in on the IPO, take it. Typically the houses want you to keep it at least 6 months or a year. Who cares? If it gets a nice bump on day 1, take the profit.

If you cant get in on the IPO, wait a few days at least and maybe start to slowly build a position. Don't ever go all in at once. If you get in, let ot come down another 10-15% before adding to the position.

This is what I am thinking. I think that’s one of the reasons musk wants retail investors to have access to the IPO. If he gets the right ones, they’ll actually be more likely to hold after a pop than institutional investors.
