I was thinking the exact same thing. If he had brought him in instead of Duffy.....
Fox/Forbes-if they face a program with a good pitching staff,they make the routine plays and can put the ball in play-they lose the game every time. How many decades have we watched the same BS time and time again. Forbes only know about 4 pitchers and has no clue how to play the matchups.
My bad. I'm fortunate not to have to listen to them today but unfortunate to have spent good money to watch this mess live. Here's hoping we can do something with these last 6 outs.

Usually I would agree - but right now, this is what we have:
Lynch/Decaro: both who cannot provide any length past 3-4 innings usually - sometimes not even that long…
Glauber/McDuffie: these two have to spend 60-70 pitches covering for one or both above - sometimes with 2+ appearances in a weekend
Rose: has come on late and can provide some relief, but was mostly unproven until about 2/3 of the year had gone by and he started to shine in relief
Boaz: has to open game 3 (if there is a game 3) and hope he can make it to the 3rd or 4th.
After these 6…it gets pretty dang brutal in the bullpen. As many pitchers as you can carry and you only have 6 that you can count on…NOT GOOD!
Forbes and company know that they will have to punt this game to have any chance of winning games 2 (and maybe 3, if we get there).
After walloping Arizona in game 1 last year, I felt pretty darn good going into game 2. This series is absolutely winnable. Our bats need to get going though.
Forget about this one and get it done tomorrow and send them home sad on Sunday. They are getting a little too cocky for my liking. lol

Lynch should have been pulled after retiring the side in the 6th. He had just struck out a batter and he had enough gas in the tank and was warmed up enough to at least try facing Lamb. Bringing in a cold McDuffie who promptly gives up our first walk of the game, followed by a GS was the most predictable result ever if you have watched Carolina sports for decades. I hate to sound negative, but come on now. Run Duff out there in a new frame after a proper warm up and empty bases. That’s the kind of coaching decision that Forbes and Fox before him has made too often in the biggest moments.
That grand slam took all the wind out of the team. The offense went from playing well to every single player having super weak at bats. Just have to be ready with a new mindset tomorrow.

You can't forget the formula that got you here, and that is Glauber on relief with the lead. Do you even realize how many inherited runners Walker has allowed to score. They are not charged to his ERA. Again. This is the Super Regionals. You have to go to Glauber in that situation. That's been the winning formula.

pretty disastrous overcoaching in this game. if lynch comes out, which itself was a questionable decision with the way he was pitching, you absolutely need glauber in the game. its either lynch or glauber to finish the inning there and it makes no sense to bring mcduffie in. glauber is your all-american & has been all season.
